  There are of course, things linked to 'paganism' that they turn a blind eye to EG Wedding rings and Wedding cakes.

  Our First Christmas Tree

  early on, after we left jw land, my wife said to me, “i hope you don’t care, but i don’t ever see myself doing any christmas stuff.

  i don’t really understand why some ex jws decide to do that crap.” we agreed that parties were a little different because of the social aspects, but other wise i didn’t care.

  now… there’s a 16’ douglas fir with ornaments and lights in our living room.

  i would belief so but if you can point something out, it can be discussed.. i don’t mean what jw taught in the past that they later realized was not correct and amended.

  —unless you think and can show something like that is relevant.. i’ve spoken to a lot of believers from different religions.

  i don’t want to bash any religion here under this topic but their beliefs are inconsistent and their reasons are sophistry and made up and grounded on circular reasoning.

  Well, that narrows it down. What time-frame are you narrowing it down to? Last 25 years? Why brush the cult's failures under the carpet?

  It's all relevant. If the cult leaders need to make 'corrections' then something is deeply wrong with them. they should have got it right the 1st time Jehovah(tm) whispered in TOMO's ear. Or was he too drunk to hear properly?

  OK. Loss of lives because of the cult's stance on refusing blood transfusions. Then they changed to being ok with blood 'fractions(tm)'. What of the lives lost and families damaged by the stance before 'blood fractions(tm)' that needn't have happened after the 'correction(tm)'?

  You tell me.

  Dissy - Hi punkofnice. Lately in thread I have been making posts about nutritional/medicinal supplements which seem to prolong good health and which seem to prolong lifespan.

  Sorry. I missed this 1st time around. That is an interesting subject.

  I sometimes pick and munch on a bit of Yarrow that grows wild in the grass. Have to mind that the dogs haven't left their 'scent' on it tho.

  about three months earlier, the week he graduated high school, the awake!

  magazine came out with some very clear direction to teenagers.

  Do the old boys on the GB actually report their field service hours?

  this came to mind as my 71 year old wife got up at 6:30 to drive 1.1/4 hours to meet the field ministry group.

  we live a long way from the kingdom hall and the traffic is horrendous where we live!.

  somehow, i doubt the good old boys do much themselves.

  Me too. I was mainly embarrassed to do it, but 'preach(tm)' I had to. Lawdy, it was an uncomfortable life. The Governing Body(tm) (Pee be upon them), have no idea....or if they do, they laugh at the Jobots discomfort.

  i was thinking about freedom of speech after watching a clip about the jw suing kevin mcfree.

  they wanted to take away his freedom of speech.

  but in thinking about it, that is the way of the organization, save they want to control thought as well.

  When you consider how the Governing Body(tm) (Pee be upon them), stifle the speech of victims of Watchtower approved nonces, then is it any wonder they want to stifle anything that might damage their reputation?

  in the latest copy of the elders textbook someone kindly made available to us on this website, i see that "independently organized meetings for spiritual feeding" are still not allowed.

  no wonder because independent research would let the scales fall from the eyes.. the gb still insisting that they are guided by the (always lower case) holy spirit and the bible!!

  not that the rank and file members need the bible or holy spirit themselves because they are fed through meetings, conventions, assemblies, jw broadcasting and the publications.

  The only 'spirit' the Governing Body(tm) (Pee be upon them), are guided by is top brand Whiskey. Just watch TOMO slur his words as he gives his drunken, delusional, hate speech on the Broadcast(tm).....and the Jobots lap up every bit of hubris from this alcohol infused bunch of sexual predator protectors.

  Looking back to when I was a Jobot, I wonder how I never saw through the lies and hate from the Governing Body(tm) (Pee be upon them).

  I wish I'd woken up sooner, although I'm not going to say I didn't have doubts, but I suppressed them. I didn't want 'Jehovah(tm)' to lovingly murder me at 'Armageddon(tm)'.

  They guilt tripped me bad. I can never forgive them or myself for falling for it.

  TOMO the 3rd will be too drunk on expensive Whiskey to be bothered.

  I'm sure the Governing Body(tm) (Pee be upon them), are exempt from anything other than a rock star life style.

  I can imagine TOMO drunk (like he usually seems to be), hurling TV's out of Hotel windows. Goosing the Bell Boy's bum and winking.

  I feel the Governing Body(tm) (Pee be upon them), will never live by their own (not the Bible's), rules as they sneer down on the great unwashed. (Unless one is a sexual predator, then TOMO and the boys will rally around to protect their like minded nonce).

  Safe to say, they won't count time(tm). As Smiddy says quite rightly, it's below them.
