i know some of you have gone off the bible but, in relation to jw teaching and act 15:28,29 what do you think this passage of scripture is telling us?.

For example....in the new testament bats are called birds???????
As you know...bats are mammals.
I have problems with accepting that the author whom allowed all these mistakes to go to press could possibly be "God".

for me it was when i was about twelve years old and my best friends dad was disfellowshipped from the congregation.. i could not understand how a god of love would treat someone so coldly.. i used to think what if that was the way my parents would treat me if i had done something wrong, that would be so hard and cruel.. as i got older another thing that bothered me was the beard issue.
it may sound pretty trivial however the society has always refused to make a good arguement as to why they would give you the old cold shoulder if you were to grow one.. two more items; first i could not understand why all the congregations and all the assemblys would give income reports.
and the society never did.
I know this is going to sound rather incredulous to some, but I was born into the WTBTS cult and yet from a very young age sensed it was not right.
As I grew older I even sensed evil in it. I made a point of speaking to all DFD or DA'D persons......my family were not impressed to say the least.

it's a general question for anyone, and it's a very personal one that requires personal answers.
i'm not asking what the bible says, what science says, what the dictionary says, or what your mother says.
i'm asking how you, as an individual with your own ideas, feelings and perceptions, conceptualize spirituality.

This is a hard answer to give as it is such a deep untouchable, intangible thing.
To me, spirituality is a deep going within which leads to an unfurling giving to others.
Also.....the saying "stop and smell the roses" is not as silly as it sounds. Being one with nature is very spiritual for me.

after i left the organization one of the things that surprised me most was the clergy of christendom's view of jehovah's witnesses.
i thought we were the 'center' of their attention, and they not only hated us, but were afraid of all the things we published about them.. nothing could have been farther from the truth!
most ministers hardly knew anything about witnesses.
The JW's trash other religions but the others are tolerant of the JW's .....hardly the picture we were painted when in the Org.

the bible tells us that it rained for forty days and forty nights.. it stopped raining and noah & co floated around for a bit.. when they landed, noah sacrificed some of the animals (weren't they in short supply?
) and god promised never to bring a deluge upon then earth again.. to back this up, there was a rainbow in the sky as a sign.. now, what causes a rainbow?

You have reminded me of a book written by the author Ian Plimmer about Noah's ark and the believability of the entire story.
He claimed that if that many animals were in an ark the size of which the bible refers to, the whole thing would have blown up from the Methane Gas given off by the animals defecating.

in the times of the old testament the prophets foretold of the coming of a saviour,a son of god, a king of kings.
the pharisees, being imperfect men, interpreted these prophecies to mean that a literal king would be coming to nation of israel.

I believe that the only paradise we have is "now" here on earth.
But, having said that, I do believe we each have a unique spiritual side to our nature that has nothing to do with "God".
Having said that, I pose one question....Who made God? Man? Because he could not accept that we are here alone?
So, did God make man, or man make God?
