  Getting upset with children who cannot sit through the meetings.

  ok this thought came to me the other day.

  i was thinking of the co who told me that he liked to see parents spank their children for not sitting still during the meetings.. i remember how hard it was to sit through two hours when i was four or five years old.

  it was like forever.. i was thinking of comparing the hours that we have been alive to how long two hours is for a child.

  I agree to a point with Jusitita Themis on children learning to sit still. It's very good training for young ones the only problem I have is JW children have to sit still listening to talks that are not age appropriate. For NewChapter I remember the same thing happen back in the 60's at a CA. The CO stop his talk and asked the young mother to take her crying baby out of the auditorium. I was only 11 at the time and I was embarrass for her. Reason 1078 why I hate this cult. Totally ADD

  WTBTS NEEDS MONEY NOW !

  reading about the mass amounts of money involved in all this acquisition of blocks of properties... in new york city no less, .

  is so contrary to how the organization expects it's loyal "servants" to live their lives, .... it is shocking!!

  these buildings are, for the most part (maybe all) renovated with free labour and then sold for great fortunes.

  Sorry finallyfree it would almost be impossible for any elders to steal the money to buy anything. There are so many check's and balance's the account servant has to go through then the Cir. Overseer reviews all that data. WTS makes sure they get every penny. Believe me I know this for a fact. Not to say someone is stealing from the box but when it comes to the money accounts it better be right on. Or the Cir. Overseer will call you on it. Totally ADD

  WT Society wants Elders to Conceal Information to Psychiatrists- Elders Bk.

  my wife and i have read carefully through chapter 5 of the new elders manual when we do our " personal study " in bed on saturday mornings !

  so without further delay , notice this quote from the new elders manual, " there are times when an emotionally distressed christian may seek professional help.

  whether a christian or his family pursues treatment from psychiatrists , psychologists, or therapists is a personal decision.

  Dear Flipper, I have no idea what my wife I mean reopened mind is talking about. My mind has not cleared up. It is still cluttered with years of cult thinking. Just kidding. If that therapist only knew what she started. I remember her telling me how this was going to make me a better elder. What it did do was to help me see how bogus this organization is. We had a poor young sister( twenty something) in our hall who had horible emotional problems could not eat, thin as a rail. All the so called older sisters knew exactly what she needed to do. Go out in service, read her bible, go to the meeting. The elders for the most part gave her the same advice. The thing was her emotional problems would not allow her to do any of those things. I personally went to here mother and told her to get her to a doctor now. First the mother told me she is taking vitamins. I told her she just wasted $150.00 Get Her To A Doctor I told her with much conviction in my voice. Finally after serveral months the mother took her to a doctor which lead to a Psychiatrists. At this same time the older sisters and other elders where saying she is just lazy she needs to go to work, get out is service, read her bible, go to meetings. Well guess what? It turn out she is Bi-Polar. Now on medicine doing 1000% better. Gain about 30lbs. And is able to function for the most part. The mother told me she always thought Psychiatrists were demon inspired. And yet they were the ones that finally help her daughter not doing out in field service, reading the bible and going to meetings. Totally ADD

  Toxic Relationships

  i have had it with my mother.

  i've spoken on the board before about her.

  she is fanatically religious, often keeps me on the phone for hours while she talks endlessly about the bible.

  I recommend getting the Book "Toxic Parents" it was a real eye opener for me and my wife. It really help us alot in dealing with my mother. Totally ADD

  May 15 WT sisters support your husband.....or else!

  the new study watchtower page 9 explains how sisters should be happy to be servants to their elder husbands.. "co-operate in financial matters".

  "joyful to see her husband active in the congregation".

  if he makes a decision you disagree with "she displays a quiet and mild spirit and cooperates with him to make his decision work".

  This just gives more fodder to high control husbands in the congregation. The point is many elder's wives are waking up and seeing there marriages lacking something or falling apart. The elders who are stepping down are using the excuse they need to spend more time with the family. Will the WT doesn't what to hear that so now they are putting the screws to the elder's wives. Hoping they will all come back to their senses and continue to put up with their husband over loaded duties. Up with the Borg down with the family. Thats the WT motto. Totally ADD

  reading the john/jack/fred barr "info" on page 6, can anyone tell me the difference between this blantant human honoring eulogy and what would be presented at an actual funeral for any tom, dick or harry?

  i can't tell the difference.

  When I was an elder and had to give a funeral talk the outline brings out to stay close to the material written. We were not here to eulogize the person but to bring out why we should but our faith in the Kingdom/governing body. It's been awhile sense I have given one. In the last few years I've notice the funeral talks I have been to have lax on this. I think it all depends which congregation you are at. Totally ADD

  Jehovah's Witnesses - Are they loving?

  jehovah's witnesses love to claim that they are a true religion because they are the most loving people on earth.

  they rant and rave about how they apply john 13:35 to themselves.. in a recent conversation with djeggnog, i was shocked at some of the hateful things that he was saying to me.

  now i know that i have been in some pretty heated debates with others, but i try to never make it personal.

  hello - i am hoping that some born-ins, still-ins, elders (ex), ms, etc.

  can help me with a question i have.

  what is the typical jw thought on seeking counseling via a licensed therapist or psychologist?

  When if comes to going to Therapists for help it takes great humility on your part. You realize you need help. This is a sign of maturity of your part. The problem is most witnesses fear therapy because deep down they know JW orgainization is the problem. So the cult mind set is they don't want to bring reproach on God's organization. Remember all the Bible reading, field service and attending meetings will not help your situation at all. Put getting the right communication tools which the counseling will give you is what will help both of you. I went to a therapist serveral years ago. I was the PO at the time and it help me to become a better husband and father and saved our marriage. Best of luck to you and your husband. With love show him you really care about his well being and only want your marriage to be more loving and stronger because what you are doing now is not working. A born-in but now fading Totally ADD
