You sound like the book I read when I was 10 years old. It was called Tobey Tyler. He ran off to the circus as a kid and had a great adventure. Have fun sabastious I will remember you being just like Tobey Tyler. Totally ADD

Well it's time for me to say goodbye!
by sabastious inmy priorities in my life have recently changed fundamentally.
i have always, deep down, felt a yearning for the circus.
my teachers growing up would always catch me doodling picutres of the circus with me in them being a jolly circus laborer.

I to was told my depression is caused by anxiety disorder. So I feel for you Murray Smith. Mr. sabastious I know that companion called depression. It's like a angry dog nipping at your heels. You just don't know when it's going to bite you. My depression subsided considerably when I started taking ritalin for my ADD. I don't know why but it has. I do know if I get to happy or have to good of a time the next few days I am fighting off depression. So I keep my emotions kind of at a level playing field, not to happy not to sad. I remember when I was a teenager I would have a week of feeling real good and happy I knew for the next 4 weeks I would be in a depression. I did not call it that because I did not know what it was. All I knew was I hated it. Of course being told by my parents not to have any friends or to be interested in anything because God was going to kill everybody didn't help matters at all. I blame the cult for most of my anxiety disorder and depression I have. Since I step down as a elder and have not gone to a meeting or field service for 3 months now about 90% of my anxiety has disappeared. I wonder why? Totally ADD

Do your elders care at all?
by Mr. Falcon ini currently have an elder body who, for the most part, seems utterly complacent and disinterested in actually "shepherding" anything.
i can't tell if they are lazy or just oblivious to their responsiblities of being "teachers".
it seems like they are the last to know anything and always procrastinate on everything.

Being one for almost 25 years before I step down all I can say is when does a elder have real time to be a elder.? Everytime we got a letter from the GB they would be ordering us to do this and do that then at the end of the letter tell us they don't want to burden us anymore that they have to. When thats all they were doing. For most elders they work 40 hrs., have a family with kids, do talks, do parts, do field service, out all hours of the night after a Thursday meeting. Have very little time for themselves let alone their family. So the answer to your question is yes they may care but would rather not brother with it. When we finally move from this area and hookup with the internet up north my wife and I have a story that will knock your socks off on how elders don't really care. Until then they are only human with little training in the matters of being a elder. Most of it is self taught. That is the major problem with this organization. Using untrained people to do major spiritual oversight. Totally ADD

Hi, new to this forum. Figured I'd let everyone know about my story before I got involved.
by JonathanH inif you just want the juicy details where i leave, i'll make disclaimer where it begins, if you just want to know what happened with the elders and organization after i realized it wasn't true, i'll mark that seperately.
we didn't do jack shit in service, or in the congregation.
maybe this was how jehovah came about?

Dear CoonDawg, When everbody goes right we seems to go left. We lived in FL most of our lives now we are moving north. I know we must be nuts but work it the draw for us. Working in the sun all my life has made me very heat sensitive. I know it gets hot up north but not like FL. Like I said we are kind of backward folks. Totally ADD

That is why this is a great site for guys like us we can vent our feelings or thoughts on this forum. When you do you will be surprise the emotional lift you will get. For me it really help to get the anger out of my system. However you feel it is all good for your soul. Just give it time. Take care. Totally ADD

June 15 W/T - "Should Youths Get Baptised?"
by sizemik inthe above mentioned article caught my eye for a couple of reasons .
.. it is obvious to most observers that the children of active jw's provide a potential "large army" and in spite of the attrition rate of jw youths (around 2/3's i believe), it's a resource the borg are keen to maximise.
there tactics appear to be encouraging baptism at an ever younger age.

What has not been mention is if you are a elder or MS if your children are not baptised by the time they are in their mid teens or so the WT will force them to step down. This is just more pressure on kids who fathers are servants. Talk about cult control. It just drives me nuts how nobody seems to care among the JW faithful. Totally ADD

I said it before and I will say it again. No way in hell should children get baptised. They are not mature enough to make such a monumental decision that can ruin their life forever. Science has just found out that a person brain does not stop growing until their early to mid 20's. What ever happen to the teaching that children were sanctified by the baptised parents. I guess that teaching has been throw out the door. I know one thing the rank and file in our area who have raised children do not like this push to baptised children. They are will aware of what can happen. Totally ADD
