I find his life story very interesting. But in part 2 of his story he said something that hit me right between the eyes. He states "GB rewrites their own history and rewrites themselves into the Bible, as if it was written to them and only themn." All I can say is Amen to this. As a teenager in the 1960's sitting through those death by boredom meetings I would say to myself when are they going to bring out something pretaining to us the lowly great crowd? But all they talk about was themselves, how great they are or how all the bible prophecies was about them. Talk about no encouragement. I could care less about how the bible only talk about them what about me? Don't I get any uplifting encouragement or recognition. Nope, Nada, nothing. Talk about feeling like a bug being step on by the WT boot. Well is just goes to show you when it's men's thoughts and teachings being forced fed it's bound to make you sick. Thanks Randy for such a enlightening story. Has anyone else found something in his story that hits home? Totally ADD

Channels Turn Foul as they Ebb
by Marie B. Paraison inthe watchtower channel is ebbing.
one sister told me that the change in the number of meeting days from three days to two days is because of a shortage of funds needed to pay for utilities.
in this economy and the waning of finances the kingdom hall attendees can look forward to meeting once a week in the future.. .

Believe me miseryloveselders the CO and the DO know exactly why we do not have book study groups anymore. I was told by a close friend over a year ago who was a sub. CO and maybe a CO now that the real reason was the GB did not like the fact that many groups were getting off the subject material and bringing out other research. The GB was very concerned over this. The smoke screen is gas expense, family worship night and utilities. I have no reason not to believe this person. Totally ADD

Hello VampireDCLXV, It's funny because of my ADD I was going back and forth through all the threads. Got bored so I went to active topics, didn't see anything on 1st page then went to another then another, lo and behold I came to this thread on ADD/ADHD. Read all the pages on it and was amazed to see your request for me to take the test. I did and scored a 62 which means I have moderate ADD. I found this out back in Nov. of 2007. And here all my teachers thought I was lazy and day dream all the time. Started school in 1959. They didn't have a clue what ADD was back then. My therapist told me it was just recently discovered if you had ADD/ADHD as a child you do not out grow it. You continue to have it as a adult. I was 53 when I found out and have been on ritalin ever since. It has change my world. I was able to read both of Ray Franz and numerous others. I have never been able to do that before. I also find coffee to help alot. Believe it or not I can drink and cup before bed and it puts me right to sleep. Once in a great moon I will have a PTSD attack, usually around 2 or 3 in the morning because it totally wakes me up I will go out into the kitchen and make a pot of coffee after I cup and a boring infomercial I fall asleep within minutes I fall back to sleep. Here are some titles of books you may want to read. 1. You Mean I am not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy by (Kate Kelly and Peggy) 2. ADD and loving it. DVD 3. Totally ADD tips for and Organized life. That's were I got my thread name. 4. Is it You, Me or Adult ADD. by (Gina Pera). I hope this will help you. I know the frustration of this disorder, but that all it is. It can be dealt with lots of understanding and knowledge on the subject. Thanks for inviting me to take the test. I gald to have someone else understand what it's like to have ADD/ADHD. Totally ADD

Sorry to hear we have alot in common troubled mind as far as our life stories go. I would not wish that on anyone. Also it was in central IL about 30 miles SE of Springfield. You are very right Ding. Back around 1802 or so they had a earthquake that was so powerful in suck up lakes, shot steam up into the air, and diverted the Miss. river. It shook so hard it rang church bells in Boston and NY city. The after shocks went on for almost a year. These are from writings from about 100 settlers who lived their. They thought the end of world was happening. Good point NotBlind. All I know is it scared the crap out of me. Totally ADD

I remember the fear I had, I thought I was going to die because the Big A started. All it was a little shaking of the plates and glasses in the cabinets. It was 1967 or 1968 late fall on a Saturday morning. I was home watching cartoons on the TV my parents were at work. So I was by myself enjoying the fact I was not out in field service. Around 10 or 11 AM our house started to shake I looked out the window expecting to see the earth open up and swallow me up. I was a teenager at that time all I was thinking about was girls and not all of it was not pure thoughts. So I knew for a fact that Jehovah hated me and this was his chance to do me in. Boy I love this cult it's so exciting. Totally ADD P.S. Anybody else remember that?

Exposed me to a very bad P.O.. Thanks to him it screwed up my life with PTSD and depresssion caused by high anxienty. Low self esteem, guilt, and fear you were going to be killed by the big A. If that didn't get you all the people who hated JW would. Social outcast and the only thing I was taught about God was he was ready to kill you at any moment. If this is not a cult I don't know what is. Totally ADD

Evolution vs. Watchtower Society
by FrankWTower ina few months ago i had a part in the service meeting about evolution.
it was based on the reasoning book's entire section on the topic.
my conscience bothered me because it was the scientific method and science in general that led me to doubt my beliefs in the first place.

Hey wobble, at the end of a elder school serveral years ago they read a letter to us concerning reports coming out of the UK and not to believe them. They did not go into detail but if we hear anything don't believe it. It left all of us looking at each other and wondering what they were talking about. Now back to the subject. I believe in evolution, why because I have evolved in the last couple of years and left the WT cult. It will take them 30 years to figure it out sense their imformation is 30 years in the past. Very important to me. Been married to the same gal for almost 37 years. We have had our highs and are lows. To me it would be very lonely without her. I don't know how I ended up with such a great person but I did and I am eternally grateful. Totally ADD

About Therapy/Counseling
by Mad Sweeney inif it becomes obvious to strangers on an internet message board that you should get therapy/counseling:.

My own experience was good for me when I went to Therapy. Ask my wife Reopened Mind. It open my mind help me get rid of many demons in my past, help me build my self esteem and also to recognize when certain bad behavioral came I was able to change them to good behavior. All in all if I could afford it I would go again but for now I can't so I rely on my past counseling to get me through. Also my wife is able to help me understand what to do when I need it. I must say it takes great humility and courage on ones part to admit they need help and seek it. As sabastious said threrapy can help anyone at any time in their life. Well spoken. Totally ADD

I know at the end of the month the service overseer would call the ones who did not turn in a slip and asked them if they had any time to turn in. If they didn't he would ask them if they talk to anybody that month. If they could not remember he would say to them, surely you said somethng to somebody and he would convince them they did and he would write down a hour for them. In the 4 congregation I have been in I saw this taking place. Even the service overseers fake the hours. Totally ADD
