my wife who takes notes and thinks she pays attention when the brother says jesus is our meadiator and doesn't pay attention that the watchtower just stated he is the mediator for the anointed.

oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh thats right we do benifit but rank an file dont catch the confusing statements.

This is an excellent philosophy to live by. In bullet-point form:

You are in control of your own happiness, not someone else
All things happen in the present moment
All things will pass
Every day is good
Some days are even better
Do not get attached to any particular thing because there will always be more things
Do not get attached to any particular moment because there will always be more moments
Enjoy every thing and every moment of every day
Then, when your moments are finally at an end, you will say you had a happy and fulfilled life and will go in peace.

And don't feel guilty about the things WT says you can't do (worry about what the Bible says) and you decide it's OK for you to do anyway.

(Oral Sex, College degrees, R-rated movies, more Oral Sex, Sleeping in on Saturday morning, to name few.)

i just knew that she had a relationship with a politician and a vicepresident of a certain parish church.

There aren't two witnesses to it, so it cannot be true. That's how the elders will view it.

Should you have snitched? Well, I wouldn't want anyone snitching on me and I would never do that to someone else, UNLESS they were the super-duper, Ricky Righteous kind of JDub that snubbed everyone else who wasn't up to their standards but at the same time was carrying on something on the "sly". Then, yeah, I'd probably nail 'em! Let them dance to the music they love. If they have a problem with that, show them WT 01/15/2011 pg 28, par 10.

This is the kinda stuff that is BS. It is supposed to be about your HEARTFELT "intent", but it isn't. It's faked intent.

I WANT to do Alternative Service but I have to SAY that I REFUSE to do Alternative Service but HOPE that they MAKE me do Alternative Service.

i am trying to prove or disprove a statement that i read today.

i read a statement by someone that i trust that the wtbts purposely distorts the number of anointed left alive in their reports.. i used to be a jehovah's witness.

i know all of their teachings very well.

Consider closely any you know who claim to be of the annointed class...........esp any newbie annointed (after 1935)......

How many are on medications for (or should be) or have a history of depression/mental illness?

I know at least 6 or 7...............and with the exception of one (unconfirmed), they all are.

All the guys in our cong were reg pioneers, although I think most of us were casual coasters back then as well. Thank god that gas was cheap! You had to place 100 mags, so you had to have a standing magazine order for 25 of each issue. Thus, you had to live in a place that had a fireplace or go camping often. We all got 4-Ds. None here went to prison during Vietnam Period, though many did over Korean Conflict. Lucky bastards that got 4-Fs didn't have to pioneer.

Do Children Who Get Baptized Have Any Legal Leeway To Leave The Religion When They Are Older Without Shunning?

after reading the threads on watchtower encouraging 10 year olds to take the baptismal plunge, i wonder if they have an actual legal right to terminate their agreements without any penalty enforced by the organization.. i think those of us who were "too young" to enter into any contract could be absolved of any agreements, even religious vows, because we were still obviously too young to understand all the "fine print" before signing.. what do you think??

Baptism is the one thing in which they fail to follow in Jesus' footsteps CLOSELY -- Why else does the Bible say he was baptised at THIRTY YEARS OF AGE??

Not marrying in the KH signals to other jws that there might be something wrong with your spiritual status. So most jws want to be married in the KH.

Can I Say Anything Positive about JW's to the Wife?

mrs punk and i no longer discuss the jw business posing as religion.. all i get is a hand thrust into my face and a shout of: 'if you can't be positive don't say anything!!'.

i explain i am not trying to be 'negitive' but trying to be informative, factual and honest.

this is because mrs punk would ask: 'why don't you go to meetings anymore?'.

Exactly. Do not attack the people she loves and whom are good and sympathetic to her. And frankly, most of the R&F ARE sincere, good people.

Rather, to keep from being shut out totally or to keep her from thinking that ANYTHING you say will be negative and anti-JW, perhaps you should adopt (if it's not too late to take this path) the "I am confused/stumbled about the new change in [such-and-such] doctrine and I feel that I have to wait until Jehovah clarifies this. Approach it as tho you earnestly are looking for an understanding on the subject (for example, the generation change) then you might have the opportunity to explain the details of it and why you need further clarification, thus the opportunity to explain the flip-flop-flip-flop changes that surely cannot be "spirit directed" but rather are an indication that they LACK divine direction.

Think about it.........the "millions now living [that] will never DIE" followed them right to their DEATH, many without children, some without marriage, most without retirements. [Blindly] faithful right to the end.
