And some of our politicans are suggesting they should manage ALL of our healthcare needs -- because the Government is SO EFFICIENT with everything else they do!

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

Any JW who followed the "advice" (direction) of the GB and kept their eye simple and pursued Kingdom interests first and stored up things "in heaven" vs planning for retirement etc simply GOT SCREWED because they followed that advice.
Instead of having a good education with good benefits and a pension or 401(k), they likely have a low-paying, manual labor job that is taxing on their aged body, or they are "self employed" in a venture such as the cleaning business and will have to continue working to supplement their Social Security (US here). And, instead of having money in investments, they have worthless old time slips for worthless hours of Field Serve-Us. But all of this just keeps them more "dependent" on Joe Hoover. He will never disappoint them.

It's would be interesting to know what the insurance company paid out on the restaurant fire.
Seems to me there are many JW's following the example of Steven Lett. They talk out of one side of their mouth about The End ™ being soooo close, yet out of the other side they are speculating on new homes, their 401(k) and pensions for their retirement.
IMO, most JW's DO NOT BELIEVE ARMAGEDDON TO BE "RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER". Don't listen to what they say. Watch what they do.

Tulsi Gabbard would surely be the best candidate by a mile to stand against Trump.
The VP on the ticket is going to have to be a woman. Gotta bring in those female voters. Gabbard would be good but Hawaii is a blue State anyway. They really need a woman (esp if a minority female) from a purple State to help draw that State into the blue column. Klobuchar would pull in MINN.
Whether it's Biden or Bernie, the old dude is likely to die in office (or lose it mentally), so that VP is going to likely become Pres.

I was in stores yesterday. No shortages on anything. No one stocking up on TP or water.......or anything, that I noticed. Guess we're all just gonna die of thirst, starvation, or dysentery (without TP) when the pandemic hits here.

I think most JW's have no idea what is going on in their religion. Most never open the WT (or pull it up on their iPad) until it's time for the meeting. Then they kinda "snooze" through the meetings and miss most of it. Especially true the brothers who are handling "responsibilities". They are barely in their seats.
But, most JW's don't give a ratsass about the doctrine. It's their network. Their Social Club. They just drink the Koolaid and follow the Piper.

Biden supporters better look closely at his pick for Vice President because Sleepy Joe will be over 78 when he is sworn in (if he wins). Biden's physical health seems better than his mental health. When you watch him on stage the man is clearly "slipping" mentally. If he doesn't die in office, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 25th Amendment invoked because of his "dementia" or some inability to serve.
Sanders would be well over 79 years old, and just had a massive heart attack and refuses to release his medical records pertaining to his recent health. Seems to me he has a damn good chance of croaking in office and his VP having to step up to the plate.
Trump will be (only) 74 years old at his 2nd inauguration (if he is reelected) but seems to be in good health.
