  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  US just hit the 100,000 case.

  Over 14,000 new cases today.

  Over 8,000 in NYC & adjacent Metro areas of Jersey and Penn.

  so my wife is so diluted and brainwashed.

  during this time she is having so much anxiety, mainly because me and my son's want nothing to do with the religion.. so the discussion was, i told her will never go back because they go way beyond what the bible teaches all the time.

  i brought up overlapping generation, 607 and then i told her...show me where in the bible that jesus returned invisbly in 1914 and started ruling?

  Interestingly enough, it was a "Bible Study" that planted, not just a seed but an entire garden of doubt in my mind. Identity of Michael? (Does it really matter?) The New Light on the Sheep & Goats. (Realizing I never really believed that WE (JW's at the door) were the deciding factor in deciding who was who.) But the Blood issue was the biggie. Transfusing blood is NOT "eating" blood. If you were starving to death and received a blood transfusion would it nourish and save your life. NO. Two totally different things.   Will Governor Cuomo be the Next President?

  trying to put politics aside (even though that won't really work), but ny governor andrew cuomo is blowing the other politicians out out the water (orange man [trump] and the lizard [biden]).. i don't know if cuomo has a usb port in the back of his head plugged into a hard drive but the guy speaks, analyzes and talks coherently.

  the orange man always passes difficult questions to someone else.

  the lizard can't comprehend what the question is but tries to answer something.. cuomo comes out with facts, analysis and direction on what needs to be done.

  The problem with "that guy" in NY is that they ignored the virus when it was first on the scene. Cuomo and others encouraged celebrating the Chinese New Year as well as other festivities. They didn't want to shut down the commercialism. After all -- "it's the economy, Stupid" is Rule #1 in politics now. Or, should I say, UNTIL NOW.

  USA is the "world leader" again!

  This time in COVID-19 cases.

  The US passed up Italy and China today.

  I'd say there will be over 100,000 cases here by the weekend.

  how will the borg be able to count the partakers(144,000 anointed) since jws are to celebrate the memorial at home?

  what about accurate counts for attendees?

  what challenges do you see?

  They'll fake the attendees and count anyone who might have been on the phone.

  Partakers they'll probably omit from the list. This would be a good time to quit reporting. If not, then it will surely be a lowball number and they'd probably like that too.

  Here in the US, we are "pretending" to have "Stay at Home" orders. Most of these orders have been effect for less than one week. Here in the Midwest, it started Monday or Tuesday (so 4 days ago max).
  

  Pretending is the word, because I'd estimate 75% of working people are exempt. Example: Agriculture is exempt which makes sense as we don't want to starve having no harvest in the Fall. BUT, the illegal Mexicans that mow the lawns are also "agricultural" workers.

  Walmart is open (and parking lots are full of people shopping for toilet paper), as are all grocery stores, drug stores, hardware and home building (Home Depot & Lowes) stores.

  Closed are restaurants, gyms, and similar service providers. Banks have drive up only. Restaurants can provide drive thru service, delivery, or carry out service. Churches are (voluntarily) closed. Funeral homes are closed to conducting funerals except family (limited to 10 persons).
  

  Construction workers are working (but supposedly maintaining 6 ft "social distancing").

  60% of the new cases are 50-100 miles of NYC.

  I don't see it slowing down anywhere here yet, but it's really too soon to expect to see that.

  If your JDub is like most JDubs forget doctrine. JDubs DO NOT know doctrine. In the past (as in decades ago) I'd say that maybe 10% of JDubs actually understood and could espouse WT doctrine. NO MORE! Those people left the religion once it became apparent that the GB was pulling New Light outta their asses. Most of the new doctrines are indefensible. Trying to do so will cause the dominoes to start to fall.

  It appears that, as of today, the US will surpass Italy in number of COVID-19 cases, and very well may surpass China today, though likely not until tomorrow. Over 10,000 new cases in the US today for a total of over 78,000.

  NYC area (NY, Jersey, Philadelpha) is the hot bed of new cases with about 7,000 new cases. Michigan and Louisiana are increasing at an alarming rate too.

  I don't think this is going to be over by Easter Sunday.
