The longer this goes on, the harder it will be to get them back to pounding the pavement.
Most JW's no longer do that. They stand idle at "literature carts" or drive around endlessly from NH to NH, just as they did last week or the day before and spend 50% of their "Field Circus" hours at Starbucks or McDonald's.
just read article today blood plasma from recovered corona patients to be transfused into the seriously ill to see if antibodies in the blood can help.. i guess if your a witness you can just pray and write your will..
Judging by many of the other things JW's have "pulled outta their ass", they can rationalize anything.
Cofty -- I have the greatest respect for you! You are a champion among men in your patience and sincerity (and knowledge on this subject). Every longtime member here is well aware that you are able to "chew up and spit out" any ignorant new member like [what's his name] here. [Can't bother to look back.] Yet you are always respectful.
This is like challenging a JW on one of their "Bible based" doctrines. Once it's obvious that you have the upper hand and they cannot defend their belief, they resort to "you're ugly and fat" rebuttals.
JW's that come here to preach fail to realize that it's the intelligent people who left the JW's that settled here and any JW will be over-matched.
I am thrilled to read that so many left much earlier in life than I did.
Once again, I see that I am a "slow learner".
It was a VERY SLOW process for me. I guess I just really wanted to believe it all. I didn't want to admit I had been so gullible and totally deceived. I stepped down over issues that disturbed me 10 years ago, but I still believed most of it even just 10 years ago. But I joined here 9 years ago so I guess that's when I decided I could "risk" actually signing on to this bunch of (lovely) mentally diseased apostates. Still, I associated as a PIMO for another 4 or 5 years. At this point, I don't think anyone thinks we are JW's. At the best, they might think we are "stumbled". So I'd say that I "left at 59" because I don't want to admit that I waited until I was 60.

my best friend’s wife just called to tell me that my friend had to be hospitalized due to severe coronavirus complications.
he has severe pneumonia, is put on a ventilator and is in a coma .
My friend is still in a coma.
Min, it's likely an induced coma as that is standard procedure when a person is intubated. So that isn't an indication that his condition is worse.
One thing that the JW's got right:

Do we care whether they were deliberate or careless?
Yes. IF deliberate, that's a real problem vs a careless mistake (though with catastrophic consequences). Deliberate would be an act of war IMO.
Of course, a guns and bullet war with China vs The West would be even worse than the virus.
You've got to wonder if an "economic" war would accelerate to worse things if it meant bringing China "to their knees" financially.

A couple of weeks ago one of the Networks (prob Fox) interviewed a scientist who said thorough examination of the virus had been performed and it was CLEARLY NOT LAB CREATED.
Now we have other experts saying otherwise.
I guess it was as CLEAR as everything the WT says is so certain.

I think this was a Bandaid fix. It was quite obvious to everyone that THE 1914 Generation was dead. They had milked that for years. Someone "of age" in 1914. Someone old enough to recall 1914. And, finally anyone born before 1914. But by 2010 they were damn near all dead and still no Armageddon in sight. So they had to "fix" it.
Someone pulled this "overlapping" thing out of their ass and when they had no better explanation they all (or at least 2/3 of them) jumped on board hoping the Big A would come right away and solve the dilemma. But that didn't happen, so...........the BS continues. Several of them will die (much to their relief, since they really think they're going to heaven) and get them off the hook of having to conjure up another "fix". More Koolaid please.
i'm generally not a trump fan but i do agree that things that affect the entire country should be handled in a centralized manner.
trump is stating that he will dictate when the states can open up again.
many governors, dems and reps, are fighting that saying that they have the power, not the president.
Trump has the power of the "purse strings" of the Federal Government. The Feds are dumping TRILLION$ into the economy right now to prevent this "recession" from going to "depression". If a Governor wants their State to receive generous Federal funding, they had better kiss Trump's ring ass.
