Even more ridiculous is the wearing of gloves.

You can't catch the virus through your skin, but you can catch it just as easily from touching contaminated surfaces with the glove as you can your hand and then unconsciously touching your face (which you do 10-20 times every hour).

So much of this has just become political correctness.

We certainly made some recent choices based on corporate decisions regarding politics. We no longer shop at Macy's or buy Estee Lauder products (nor have we purchased anything "Nike" for a long time). When such corporations public announce that they spend their profits to support political policies or candidates with which/whom I completely disagree, I am not going to let it be "my" profits. OTOH, I don't care what the CEO's do personally and in fact I would have no way of knowing if they kept their political opinions private.

Similarly, though never a rabid fan of (US) football, I have chosen to NOT watch any game this season. I'll likely watch some of the Super Bowl (because I have biz interests in KC) and need to be "in the loop" to discuss the game when it comes up later.

the GB has just cancelled the next two years

even some democrats are advocating for reopening society, and are at least hoping for some point in 2021, but the governing body just announced that they're canceling the assemblies in 2022 as well, aiming to restart in 2023. .

they're really milking this 'pandemic', because as soon as things go back to normal that sense of urgency will start to die again, and publisher counts / meeting attendance will go down as well.

i wonder how many jws are suffering form (additional) depression from this as well, because with meetings, assemblies and conventions at least you could see and meet new people, as well as socialize.

Zoom meetings

being pimo i attend the meetings regularly over zoom.

( i have to as my wife is a dyed -in - the wool, and stick-in-the mud pioneer witness.

i have no possibility of leaving as it would create havoc in my life and at 68 years of age i just don't want the hassle of having to cope with the ramifications of disassociating myself.

One thing they boast about is how wonderful the GB is for getting ahead of this pandemic before the world did, (which is a lie_)
