  are we living in the prophetic last days that will climax into armageddon?

  if this is true then how long should it take?

  as jw saw it, wt compared timing to within a generation using 70 ad as a parallel.

  No more judicial committee if maybe suicidal

  the new direction in the new elders book is very clear.

  absolutely no jd if there is a suspicion of suicidal thoughts.. this is obviously due to the high number of suicidal attempts after the announcement that someone is no longer a jw and the shunning that accompanied it.. so what will happen now going forward if situations arise where there would formerly have been a jd and they say there is suicidal thoughts?.

  i can’t see it working, but elders stick rigidly to what it says in the book.

  I agree. I really think WT has mixed feelings now on DF/Shunning. They SO want to stop the apostate information by silencing dissenters, BUT DF/Shunning is causing them legal issues all around the globe and even putting their religion & tax exempt status at risk in some places.

  With the No JD policy they can just verbally circulate that so-and-so is no longer a JW which leaves nothing in print and nothing publicly stated. But the result will be mostly the same. Sheeple will follow and continue to drink their KoolAid.

  i want to take a moment to salute rick fearon, an "apostate" near boston massachusetts usa who more than 17 years ago started the sixscreens telenetwork on youtube.

  I was that guy, when they told me that I was going to be deleted as an elder, I'd say ... "you know what, thanks."

  THE BRAIN DRAIN

  There must be a lot of issues like this for WT to justify production of this video. And, I'd say they have lost many of their "best" elders (ie, "smartest" elders who made decisions such as seeking out higher education for their children) or else there would not be the need to provide videos for most of the meeting content today. Most Congs just do not have competent elders.

  i guess you could say jesus was the first christian, since he was the christ.

  and as the first christian, jesus spoke more about hell that any other biblical figure.

  but, he is also the figure that said that he didn't come to condemn the world, but to save it.

  i’m agnostic so maybe the universe started by chance or by design.. if it was by design (hypothetically) and the bible is the designers word, and jws seem to be the closest to it, then what would be the largest things you would change?.

  here are a few ideas.

  -do away with the governing body thinking they are gods only channel.

  Clearly, it depends on how you define "the truth". Or are you referring to "Da Troof" as JWs do? You must face the facts that "Da Troff" (what JW's state is true) is FAR from TRUTHFUL or FACTUAL.

  For starters: No Armageddon or Great Tribulation or "rapture" in 1914. Or 1925. Or circa 1940. Or 1975. Or by the conclusion of the 20th Century. ALL UNTRUTHFUL STATEMENTS or PREDICTIONS or PROPHESIES.

  And the list goes on.........and on..........and on..........just as do The Last Days. (Ya know why they refer to them as The Last Days? Because they last.........and they last.............and they last.......etc)

  i always found it amazing that so many jws got blind drunk at parties and got away with it!

  i suppose alcohol was the only fun thing we were allowed to partake in....

  "outside of time" argument

  this is going to be very brief but a user recently tried to argue an argument that has already been refuted many times - the logic is somewhat sound but falls apart when the definition to the word used it looked and its usages in the bible.the word in question is "aionas" found in the scripture in question hebrews 1:2 .
