The 911 Documentary Video Question
by Yizuman ini'm trying to find the video of the 911 story where it shows the twin towers up close showing demolition charges going off one by one as an indication that the whole thing may have been a set up.
it was posted earlier this year but am unable to locate the post.
anyone have a link to that vid?

So why does a "conspiracy theory" like this not seem preposterous?

Radical shake up
by Mikejw inimagine if all the governing body resigned and a new set of brothers came in and said we are very very sorry for all those who have been disfellowshipped and disassociated over the years.
we know many mistakes have been made.
we are really genuinely sorry to all those who have been hurt and especially those who have died and been hurt by these mistakes.

Déjà Vu
Doesn't that kinda describe what is happening? Or at least there seems to be a good start to it all.
Will it make an iota of a difference to most of us here. Doubt it!

Elderly and sick: Out of sight, out of mind
by Captain Schmideo2 insomeone else posted something a similar experience, this is one i had regarding my mom.my mom died last year.
she had been in failing health for years, but the last 2 year were pretty rough for her, with lots of visits to the hospital.
the last 4 months, it was the hospital, a skilled nursing facility/rehab unit, and finally, a nursing home.

My mother has been hospitalized a couple of times in the past year. She is an old "pillar" in her small town Congregation. Unlike all the experiences above, I am absolutely shocked by the response from her Cong elders and all of her JW friends. Nearly all of the elders visited on the visit when she was extremely ill and she was in a hospital nearly an hour from home.
More recently, her cell phone died from all the calls on her first day admitted (as she had no charger) and once home, her phone was ringing constantly. Numerous times I was speaking to her and she cut me off because "so-and-so" is calling.

My first thought was: They thought this would die down and just go away.
After writing it and thinking, Here it is! Twenty years later!, but I concluded that they were right. I think not one JW is aware of this. This is something you discover AFTER you leave because it just is not out there because NO ONE ELSE CARES.

I observed another brother there on the dance floor looking some what intoxicated.
Not sure what part of the country/world you live, but I've never seen dancing at a funeral "wake" or the "after party". Not at all unusual to see the beer/booze flow and the "some what intoxicated" (esp at the big Catholic family funerals), but never, ever dancing.Doc

She will be required to explain why she lived a life of rebellion against Jesus when he commanded all to partake of the New Covenant "for the forgiveness of sins"
OR, she'll rot in her grave and never miss the passage of time one iota.

Again, More confusion about the direction of the Watchtower Society
by Truth and Justice inhi friends, i have not been on this board in awhile, and i would like to get some thoughts from some of you.
i have noticed a change within my 4 siblings in approximately the last year and a half to 2 years regarding their communication with my mother and i. they have either phoned us, texted, emailed, or written a letter or card to us.
the conversation has been good, and on any topic that comes to mind.

I saw this happen with a distant family member within the time frame of which you refer. Both born-in JWs. Two kids DFd. For years they "hard shunned" the kids. Then they saw the Canadian lawyer/elder testify before the Canadian Court that DFing ONLY affected "spiritual association" among one's family members.
They immediately saw WT speaking out of both sides of their mouth -- yes, WT was outright LYING about their stance on DFing -- OR IT WAS "NEW LIGHT". Their conclusion was that if WT didn't have the balls to take a stand before the Court, then they would no longer take the hard line against their DF kids.
Additionally, I believe many more JWs are reading "objectionable" material online. It is impossible to avoid on YouTube if you have ever searched for anything "JW". I have never seen the abundance of personal experiences that are posted there now. AND.....they are not all "crazy" people. This kind of thing has to be creating more and more doubts within the R&F.
