I don't think Trump will win it at the ballot box when all the final results from the cemeteries are finally counted. The suit in Pennsylvania over extending the date that ballots can be received is NOT over. SCOTUS decided not to do an emergency ruling on it, however it could still be heard and it's very likely that the new justices would make the decision lean heavily to the GOP and allow Trump to hold PA. He'd still need (2 of 3) NC and GA and MI.
I predict another election like the Bush/Gore of 2000

If the person paying Simon came in and was questioning him about his work, he'd probably think it a good idea to provide a reasonable explanation, even if the individual was not as tech savvy as Simon. He'd likely try to explain things in layman's terms to explain it.
Have you ever had a physician that got "huffy" when you challenged them on a treatment and demanded a more comprehensive explanation? (Think blood transfusions maybe.) We certainly have! And guess what? That dude is working FOR ME. I deserve a reasonable explanation, even if I'm not as educated in the medical field or as savvy in medical terminology. I am paying his wages.
When I go to get a "second opinion" and especially if it differs from the first opinion, then I deserve a more comprehensive explanation of both. And, this is what we have with treating the new virus. MULTIPLE OPINIONS. (Remember, these people are just "practicing" medicine.) Believe me, at least here in the US, there are plenty of unnecessary "procedures" given that are strictly profit motivated because "procedures" are more profitable that simple office visits or even hospital stays.

just wondering, with all these zoom meetings and cancelled assemblies, just how the financial contribution system works in 2020?.
i obviously am wondering if it will have a huge impact on the wt org.. can someone kindly summarise how contributions are managed nowadays, both officially and anecdotally in kh's.. i was last attending around 2004, where there were x2 contribution boxes, the world wide work and kh fund.

96% of american people who got off there arse to vote, chose hillary clinton to be president of the united states of america over donald trump.. and the electoral college overode the will of the majority of the people who bothered to vote , and gave the office of president to donald trump who was the 2nd choice, an also ran , of the will of the people.. it`s a furphy to say that some larger blue/red states can dictate to smaller red/blue states or vice versa to rig the elections ,simply because people can, and do change there preferences in any one state whether it be traditionally red or blue.. both democrats and republicans are both guilty and responsible for the gerrymander that is the electoral college.. there i`ve said it ,.
nobody else seems to be able to say it how it is ,.

Is it because of Pride or Loyalty?
by joey jojo inin a recent effort to entice me back to meetings, an elder friend gave me the example of his dad.. he said that his pioneer/elder/ex-missionary dad went through the anticipation and disappointment of 1975 and yet, he kept going faithfully for decades afterwards.
the obvious point was that, if his dad can deal with disappointment, then, surely a nobody like me could do the same in regards to the scrapping of the 1914 generation doctrine, and all the other changes.
his 'encouragement' was to tell me that it was only me that felt like this, everyone else is fine and have no problems with the changes.

There was a short period of time when I was fully awakened but my wife was still "in". She went with the kids to meetings without me and "guilted" me about it all. But I approached her with "sincere questions" about the issues I was dealing with asking her "help in explaining it". As we all know here, there are NO ANSWERS. In fact, you can't even ask the questions without being seen as a potential apostate.
Her eyes are fully open now. It just takes one thing to start the process.

Is the WT changing the 1914 teaching now?
by nonjwspouse ini've been absent from the forum for about 10 months while deep into a divorce and working long hours.i heard mention in another thread about a change in 1914. is this actually being taught?
i'm very curious.
a extended non jw family member of my soon to be ex spouse finally decided to really do the deep investigation on the jw, and is in the phase of wanting to "ask the direct questions" and inform them of the facts of the jws.

I know of no "official" change, however the date does not seem to be mentioned as frequently. Any recent mention of 1914 seems to be a "matter of fact" statement that it marked the beginning of the Last Days.
