How would they get all the names of current elders? Or, was this a "blanket" subpoena for "All Current Elders". I could see a lot of resignations happening.

When is America going to bring some sensible gun laws? .?
We have a law against murder. How did that help?
There are reports nearly everyday of citizens having to protect themselves from a violent assailant who are successful in doing so because they have armed themselves -- legally!

Exercise Patience Regional Convention
by Rattigan350 inthe theme of the in person convention this year is "exercise patience".
looking at the convention map, they are really using their assembly halls and they are using smaller civic centers or city arena.
no more huge stadiums.. are they not expecting a great crowd?

mentally ill/delusional or con artist?
by enoughisenough inmaybe this has been discussed in the past and i wasn't here... what do you think?
are the gb members knowingly pulling a con, or do they have delusions of grandeur?
i will go out on a limb here to say that i think they are con artist.

I don't know if there is one answer. For example, having met Sam Herd I see where he likely is an "honest" believer. It's all he has ever known and frankly, he isn't the sharpest of the group. He is not the "New Light" instigator.
However, it should be quite clear that "somebody at the top" damn well knows it's BS. Consider the many publications that are now out of stock because they were caught lying and misquoting references and inserting ellipses that changed the meaning of the quote. I'm not sure anyone of the GB actually had a hand in such because frankly, I think the GB are kept busy being figureheads. They might have just rubber stamped the draft copy of said publications. Or, actually believe that some young guy in the Writing Dept discovered some wonderful information and quotes.
Do we know who is really running things?

How Will They End 1914 Teaching?
by EmptyInside ini'm sure this has been discussed, but 1914 has to go away.
instead of, the overlapping generation teaching, they should have just ditched 1914. .
they should have done that a long time ago with 1975. it's the last of the teachings in the charles taze russell era.. i'm thinking they just will stop talking about it, and it will be out of the mind of the rank and file loyal witnesses .

With 2-3 new GB members and a couple of the old guys with one foot in the grave, be prepared for lots of New Light soon. That will most assuredly change the dynamics of the group.
According to Ray Franz, they need a vote of 2/3 majority to make any doctrinal adjustments, thus the :changing of the guard" might be the time for it.

8,600,000 Pubs in 2018
8,700,000 Pubs in 2022
Gain of 100,000 Pubs in FIVE YEARS
Yet, over 100,000 baptized every year.
500,000 added to the group, but only a net increase of 100,000. Where did the others go?

It’s started COBE asking all appointed men if they are fully vaccinated
by Indoubtbigtime inthere is a huge problem now in all congregations as the gb stubbornly will not do the u turn on staying fully vaccinated that many hoped they would do.. all congregations around the world the cobe has to ask all ministerial servants and elders if they are fully vaccinated (meaning no more than six months since last shot).
there is a massive problem now with many many jdubs not getting their latest boosters and not wanting to stay fully vaccinated .
but more serious than that is how the gb painted themselves into a corner with these vaccine mandates.. most governments did a u turn on the vax mandates but the gb can’t get out of this one so easily .

So much for that info being "strictly confidential".
I hope it is frustrating for them that nothing can be kept confidential any longer.

My understanding is that it requires 2/3 vote of the GB to change "doctrine". With the 8 GB members, that means it takes 6 to make any kind of change. Adding a couple more to the mix may make it possible to push through some changes that are being resisted. You can be sure the Alpha GB guys know how the 2 add-ons will think (vote) on everything.

Staying in physically for all the benefits
by Indoubtbigtime ini wonder how many are like me staying pimo for the great association and gathering etc.
also find it very interesting having a front row seat watching the collapse of borg.. im not wasting any more time or money on anything i don’t want to do like preaching and mostly just go on zoom .
there is nothing i want to do that would be considered disfellowshiping sin, i’m married and want to live by bible principles but i have serious doubts that the gb were chosen by god and are his one and only spokesmen on earth.

One of my friends is a PIMO for the very reason of maintaining their social network. His wife claims and appears PIMI but her actions show otherwise. She picks the JW doctrines like a diner at a buffet. She likes this one so goes along with it, but does not like that one, so ignore it.
I'll admit I miss the network of "friends" -- yes they are "conditional" (we've learned all so well). But as long as you are not wanting to taste the forbidden fruits (considered sins in JWism), most are a pretty good group of sincere people. (Exclude the pompass asses from that general statement.)
