Can someone remind me the reason's you could be disfellowshipped?

the only reasons i can remember are smoking, sexual immorality and of course, apostasy.

there must be others but having been out since 1990, i'm drawing a blank.

i was thinking perhaps serious criminal offenses that result in prison, but then i remembered a brother in my congregation in the 1980's who went to prison.

usa politicians in charge of the economy for the past 50 years were too stupid to understand how the economy works.

this just proves my theory, that an education on the top tier universities just sucks and means nothing in the real world, unless its in the stem education.

for 50 years usa had zero tariffs on other countries.

Memorial attendance

We went to keep the JW family and friends (that don't ignore us) "happy".

Attendance seemed pathetic. These used to be standing room only events. Attendance including Zoom was just barely over 100. The seats were 25% empty. In fairness, there are two events held at this location and we went to the late (2nd) one, so likely some of the older members went to the early one. Still . . . .

. . . . it ain't like it used to be.

AND I MUST ADD -- I did not hear "this may be the last time we do this . . . ."

Name the plenty. Where is their testimony.

Matthew Mark Luke & John are only ONE testimony (you can only count the Bible once).

History may agree a man known as Jesus, son of Joseph, walked the earth, but where are these testimonies to raising the dead, healing the sick, feeding multitudes? Nowhere but the Bible. Somehow these things were not significant enough to make the "Jerusalem Times" (history).

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis.

I received similar news around Christmas of 2022. Did 45 radiation treatments and 18 months of chemo. Monitoring things with testing every 30-90 days. So far, so good. Presently, no evidence of cancer. I'm also about your age, so I suspect I will likely succumb to other issues as a sedentary, overweight, red meat consuming, regular drinker of good scotch.

No longer expecting the Big A to escape the final eventuality of all men (at least to date).

What "message" does the J.W Org. have to offer that will attract new members ?

the message they have been pushing for 150 years or so is "the end is near !"..

in the educated, civilised world, people think " yea ?

maybe because of economic meltdown exacerbated by climate change, but not from some intervention by a non-existent god".. "would you like a free bible study ?

1/2 of the Jehovah’s witnesses have gone

there are 1/2 of the jehovah’s witnesses that there were 30 years ago in my area.

some have left but i think that many have died and none of their kids stayed being jehovah’s witnesses.

7 congregations have been dissolved over the years.

particularly since the unbelievably ridiculous Overlapping Generation thing came in, how can anyone not see what nonsense that is ??

I too have wondered about this and have concluded that most (remaining) JWs just haven't even given enough attention to the explanation to understand it -- or realize that there is NO way to understand such BS. They are just blindly following their blind leaders.
