wow. 3Mozzies that is exactly what I was looking for. With the apologetics I know I could explain away alot of the subjects but you provided enough that, at least to myself, if i explained them all then i would just seem unreasonable. I havent made up my mind yet but I am leaning towards the bible just being a book so points such as these are much appreciated

Is there a biblical 1914?
by AiAi ini have noticed that people that hold no faith in the bible can easily find reasons not to believe it is god's word.
likewise, i have found that when one does hold faith in the bible they can continue to believe it against any contrary evidence.
the torah not being written by moses is not a big deal to some, neither are the two creation accounts in genises.

It seems I was not clear enough in my post? I was asking are there any passages or statements in the bible that can be used to prove it wrong. I used 1914 as an example since it can be used to prove the watchtower wrong. so what im wondering is, are there any strong arguments against the bible? such the 2 different lists of christs lineage?
thank you for the effort concerning 1914. I have that entire teaching understood....or I thought i did till LS58 commented lol

LURKERS: Is JW the only true religion? Here is my personal research!
by mentallyfree31 inare jehovah's witnesses the only religion teaching the truth?.
the statement that only jehovah's witnesses are teaching the truth is an extraordinary claim.
such a claim would require extraordinary evidence.

I have written letters before to the society but never recieved a response, and i dont have money for certified mail :/
It could be because of how the letter was written and what was said but I still have a slight suspicion I didnt mail it to the right address...so does anybody know which address one should mail letters to if they want a response?

I have noticed that people that hold no faith in the bible can easily find reasons not to believe it is god's word. likewise, I have found that when one does hold faith in the bible they can continue to believe it against any contrary evidence. the torah not being written by moses is not a big deal to some, neither are the two creation accounts in genises. In fact, some go so far as to claim that some scripture is of god while others are just the writters opinion (although they never explain how one can tell which is which). I do understand that despite all evidence, no matter how compelling, some will never change their opinion.
My question is: Is there a biblical 1914? or 'generation' teaching? something that to a reasonable and openminded person would be enough proof to discredit the bible, just like those two teachings are enough for some to leave the watchtower? I guess my question is along the lines of the post 'Punchdown arguments' except focused on the bible. I no ultimatly anything can be reconciled to fit with the bible somehow, just look at the borg; but what seems, at least to you personally, as strong enough proof the bible is just a book that one cannot ignore or explain it?
EDIT: I am not asking about 1914 I am asking if there are any biblical passages or other such things that can be used to prove the bible wrong

Why do you believe the bible? or not?
by AiAi inwhen i began questioning the religion i used the bible and their own statements to prove them wrong.
now, recently, i have began to realise that maybe the only reason i put any faith in the bible is because i was always raised to.. so my question is, after leaving the watchtower, what was it that made you decide the bible was worthy of belief?.
i am not asking about any continuing belief in god or disbelief, i am more conscerned about the first step (to me) right now of the bible itself.

There are definately a lot of responses here to consider.
to clarify i was more concerned about the reasons for your faith, not just the fact you have faith or points of why its okay to have (or not have) it. also, I am definately not gonna make my final decision (if there ever is one) based on others reasoning, but I do think outside points of views can be helpful; it definately seems so in a lot of experiences on here of how people left the borg.
with that being said, so far i have noticed most people that believe in the bible do so almost wholly because they cant bare to believe anything else. no one has given any real reason to believe the bible yet. I really would appreciate some. I do understand there can not be any proof either way but I did not ask for that.
But to be clear I really do appreciate all of the responses so far.
thank you :)

how do i quote like you did? anyways:
A few weeks after I woke up to the fact that I had been raised in a cult, I came to the conclusion that everything that I had been taught about god had been delivered via my parent's cult and was not to be trusted.
That is exactly how I feel right now and where I am coming from in my question. and you were referencing Jesus killing the tree that was out of season anyways, right?

However, any proof of biblical fallacy is fine even if it did lead to athiesm, and proof of correctness is fine even if it led to a specific denomination. I just dont care to hear about why i should be athiest or chrsitian at this point...
And thank you again to everyone for the friendly welcoming!
