As many of you know, my wife had a stroke back in September. I was so happy that over 80 people sent us public and private e-mails. Some sent flowers and one person sent a gift.
It meant so much to me and my wife to have this kind of support. Once my wife was back home, I got all of your responses printed out, It brought a tear to her eyes when she read it in print.
Well, Jan is mostly all recovered. Her mind is very good. The only residual is that she is very weak. Even though she walks every day, her strength has not returned yet.
Sometimes, she gets emotional over this lack of progress in her life. I try to stay calm, but it is not easy for either one of us.
I rarely, if ever, write about my personal life, but I feel comfortable doing so here.

How well did you know your bible?

some were able to do that, but what did that prove?.
there were always 6 or 7 books that i was never able to find, so i had to go into the index at the beginning and check the page.

Also, I am glad you could get this off your chest, because anytime you want to get something off your chest (especially your blouse), you can come to my house, only, of course, if my wife is not home.

What Do The English & Australians Think Of Americans On This Board???
by minimus init seems to me that this board's force comes mainly from our english and aussie friends.
i've read comments that some have gotten annoyed that the society and gb seem to only stress the "american" english in their style of writing.
i'm just curious as to what you think of your american brethren.

i promised myself i would go to bed at 2:30am, it seems like half an hour or less has gone by and it's now 4am, gowd!!!

My stupid neighbors!
by DanTheMan inmy next door neighbor ed is a very nice man.
he and his wife have lived in their house for 37 years.
they are avid gardeners and the landscaping around their house is gorgeous.. however, my neighbor 2 doors down (on the other side of ed) is another story.

I agree that killing a dog is a good fantasy, but it could "back fire". It is still fun to think about.
I remember a quote from Puddin'Head Wilson, by Mark Twain. The guy in the story just got off the boat at a town on the Mississippi river. He was talking to some locals, and a dog was barking, which was very distracting. He said, "I wish I owned half that dog." The locals asked why and he replied, "Because I would shoot my half."
He then walked away and locals pondered this comment, and concluded that he was a Puddin' Head, since they knew that if he shot one half of the dog, the other half would die too. (They didn't seem to understand that he already knew that.) -

Same question as Jesika. Why do you get depressed? I get pissed at things like this. Anger is a better emotion than depression. Just remember Dan, it is better to be pissed off than pissed on.
