  Servant versus Overseer

  way back when, they used they used the term of servant.

  in the late 60's or early 70's, they changed it to overseer.

  now let us look at these two words.

  onacruse and alanf encouraged me to do this.

  i am 64, so i really do know the religion of the 40's and 50's.

  i was in high school from 1954 to 1958. we did not have junior high at that time.

  we had grades, 1 though 8, and high school 9 though 12. .

  at any rate, we were encouraged to shop around and date several people, just like the rest of society.

  he encouraged me to write about the early years of life as a jw.

  later, i talked to alanf and he encouraged me to do the same thing.

  years ago, they used to be called "servants", as in congregation servant, circuit servant, and district servant.

  now they are called "overseers" what a big difference that is.

  a servant serves others.

  i was just read an email about me and the writer had several questions that i would like to address.

  as he knows, i am 63 and left 40 years ago.

  his first question was why did i leave?

  it will be in print in about six months.

  Self Esteem
