KGB,
I am glad you are back. I am a nonbeliever, but I respect your right to believe, and I would never put you down for that. You have the right to your opinions, as do I. So, I will express my opinions in honor of your right to yours, and never insult you for what you believe.
I truely hope that you enjoy your time here.

The Road Less Traveled
by Brummie intoday i went up into my loft (and that itself is a less traveled road), after moving the cobwebs and several unidentified spiders i opened about 3 huge boxs of old old watchtower books, 7 studies, rutherfords rainbow etc, there amongst all the books was a yellow/red book called "the road less traveled" by m.scott peck.
has anyone read it?
is it good?

Logunsrun,
I agree with you that Albert Ellis is a far better thinker. For ideas expressed here, please, Ten Nutty Ideas, started by Tina, with contributions by yours truely.
If you do a search on the word, Nutty, I am sure you can find it. -

If you have reason to leave and don't care about the consequensces, then I agree with those who say, don't meet with them and don't play by their rules.
If you have something at stake, I would take the advice of Jst2laws, and express your doubt in the most humble way and ask for their guidance. They will love you for it.
By the way, I wonder why the 144,000 number is literal, but not the text with it, that is, that the 144,000 is made up of 12,000 from the 12 tribes and they were all Hebrew male vigins. Why don't they take that into account? Something you might want to ask them. -

I am tired of thinking like a victim....
by Ravyn ini may have to cut back on my forum reading.
this is getting discouraging.
everyone knows the problem, feels the problem, but very few want to act on the problem.

Ravyn,
I think you underestimate the power of what has been done. Let us look at some what has been accomplished.
Books
The books of Ray Franz and Jim Penton have helped tens of thousands of people. Other books have helped as well, such as those by Richard Hickman, Jean Eason, Cretean and many others.
The Internet
How about the contributions of Doug Checkets, Alan F, Kent, Norm, Jim Whitney, just to name a few.
How about the sites like this one and many others that have given information to those who lurk and are on the fence. I remember a woman posting here who got on the internet and in just a few short hours, she came to understand the real problems in her religion and left.
Ravyn, the growth rate in internet connected countries is zero. It is working.
Rain drops
We are not talking about a few drops here and there. We are talkin about a continual thunder storm that is erroding the very foundations of the Witness religion. -

I will mention two others. The Time is at Hand, by Russell. What a bunch of wacko stupidity is found in that book. Another piece of crap and misinformation is their history book, Proclaimer's of God's Kingdom, or some such. What a bunch of lies and misinformation are found in that worthless piece of trash.

Is there a real science of spiritual effects?
by metatron inhere's my sincere question:
is there a real science of spiritual effects?
now, before you say, "nope, it's all bullsh*t", i'm convinced that a number of truly weird/psychic things have happened in my life.

Rem,
I don't know if you remember this or not. About a year ago, bboi neko stated that his girl friend was an expert at remote viewing. I offered to set up an experiment. I would send an image of the the picture on the wall above my tv to a neutral third party. (I see this picture every day and it is one of my favorites.) Well, he never did agree to test out his girl friend's abilities.
Now, if remote viewers are so good, why did they not warn the government about 9-11?
It is all a bunch of foolishness. -

Ok,
Everyone loves Simon, so how about if everyone who has pposted here sends Simon 5 dollars a month via Pay Pal, so he no longer has to have the financial burden. I have contributed, but only sparadicallly. I am making a committment to a regular contribution. I hope ther rest of you do as well.
If there are mispelled words or bad grammar here, it is becausee onne third of what I posted was not visible on my screen.
