Waiting,
Don't know the gender of the detectives. It was internet writing and they were convincing enough to snare 14 bad guys is all I know.
Send news from the Carolinas.
i've really enjoyed the conversations about music, poetry, movies, books and short storys.
i thought it would be interesting to read about little known news from around the world, so i'll start with some from the tiny dot where i live on this ball of mud we call earth.. i just read in the paper this morning that the people of port clinton, ohio are celebrating new years by dropping a 500 pound fiberglass walleye fish into lake erie.
we people here in ohio have a certain panache.. the tornado in xenia, ohio this summer missed my daughter's house by a block and a half.

Waiting,
I don't know why you get into such a snit about what other men wrote to you. I didn't say it. Maybe you just enjoy repeating it for those who didn't see it the first tiem.
There was a book entitled "The One Minute Mangager" I thought that was a catchy title so I wrote one called "The One Minute Lover" For some reason, it didn't sell very well.
I hope Waiting and RHW are taking a nap. I'm getting out of the house so I don't have read the firey coals they are going to heap upon my poor head.

The tornado in Xenia, Ohio this summer missed my daughter's house by a block and a half. I was on the phone with her when the storm hit. It happened so fast that there was no warning on radio or tv.
They are doing a good thing in Xenia. Dectectives go into a chat room and pose as young girls. So far this year, they have arrested 14 men who drove from all over the state thinking they had a date with a 14 year old girl, but ended up having a date with the judge. I hope other cities take up this practice.
It's great in Dayton; TV2 loves you.
an open letter to my virtual congregation.. last night i opened a bottle of chardonnay with dinner.
within a short time the county had another bottle to recycle and i had a muddled brain.
i know better than to drink and drive, but i hadn't learned not to drink and surf.. i presently don't have the time to go back and read any posts i made, and interestingly enough, i can't quite recall what i wrote.. to any of you that i may have offended, angered or bored (most likely bored), i heartily apologize.. if i had a headache, i would refuse to take an aspirin.
Hey OVD,
You don't have to confess to us. We're not the elders. If you hadn't told us, we would have never known. As Henry Ford II used to say "Don't complain and don't explain." Words to live by, both at work and at play.
i've recently had a discussion with a witness friend in which she said that jehovah had to have an organization.
if not jehovah's witnesses, then who else could possibly have his approval?.
what i would like to know is if jehovah has always had an organization, who were they?
MDS,
I just read that scripture in Isaiah. You certainly do have an important mission.

MDS,
You asked if Israel understood Jesus. Well, I'm not the modern day Israel, but you put yourself in good company, right there with Jesus.
Regarding my problem and working it out with Jehovah. I don't need his spirit to understand you. Your perfectly understandable as I pointed out in my last post.

MDS,
As I understand what you just wrote, you are a modern day prophet trying to save the modern day Israel, e.g.,JW-GB, just like the Old Testiment prophets, and Jesus himself tryed to save the Israel of the past. Did I get it right?

MDS,
Why don't you write a single paragraph staing what you conlude on a subject? Perhaps, you haven't decided what you believe just yet. Maybe writing a succinct paragraph is a skill you haven't developed yet. Live on the edge. Give it a try. We'll be kind.

I agree with Waiting that through history there have been good hearted individuals, and I would add, both inside and outside organizations. I don't see any convincing evidence that there are any organizations from Christ's time to the present day that represented Jehovah. As Ray Franz put it "with depressing regularity" well meaning people start with good intentions and as their group grows, their original intentions become corrupted.
MDS's comment about Ray Franz is way off base. I have met him and I have read his two books. He has made every effort to prevent others from following him. He says very little publicly about his personal beliefs, and as far as I know, he does not speak in a public forum. The man had great courage and stamina to write what he did. If I where in his position, I couldn't have done. I admire him but I don't follow him nor anyone else for that matter. As far as my personal beliefs go, I would disagree with him and all of you for that matter on many issues.
