Doubt serves a very useful purpose. In science it has lead to great discoveries. In technology to great inventions. On a personal level, it protects us from scam artists.

'Tunnel of Doubts'
by ISP intunnel of doubts.
this subject was discussed in the 1. feb.01 wt.
it is an interesting expression, tunnel of doubts as if several doubts merge to produce an overall tunnel from which it could be difficult to emerge.

Struggle,
I think I read everything, but there are a couple of points that I am not clear on. I think you said you went before the Elders once before. What was the reason for your first visit with them? You also said you are about to have a meeting with them. What prompted this second need for a meeting? Did you say something to them or did they suggest the need to meet? If you could clarify these two points, perhaps we could give better advice.

News
by larc ini've really enjoyed the conversations about music, poetry, movies, books and short storys.
i thought it would be interesting to read about little known news from around the world, so i'll start with some from the tiny dot where i live on this ball of mud we call earth.. i just read in the paper this morning that the people of port clinton, ohio are celebrating new years by dropping a 500 pound fiberglass walleye fish into lake erie.
we people here in ohio have a certain panache.. the tornado in xenia, ohio this summer missed my daughter's house by a block and a half.

Hey Waiting, that was great stuff. I'll bet that our friends from the UK and Australia would enjoy knowing these little known facts.
Liquar Laws: In Ohio you can order a drink as late as you want as long it is finished by 2:30 AM. In Michigan, you can't order a drink after 2:00, even though the bar closes at 2:30. This is takes too much forward planning for a Buckeye. A friend of mine from Kansas told me that her state is so dry that airplanes flying overhead can't serve drinks. Kentucky is a curious state, dry counties mixed in with counties with bourbon factories in them.
Grits: My wife likes 'em; I don't care for 'em. Her mother is from Kentucky so she probably had them at home.
Iced tea: Are they too damned lazy to sweeten their own tea when they are up north?
Barbeque: I loved barbeque I've had in the South, and I don't even know which type I had.
My favorite southern city: Savannah
Thanks again for the info.
Hey guys and gals, jump in the fray.

Waiting,, - Some Ohio and South Carolina News
Ryan Brewer from Troy, Ohio (twenty miles north of Dayton) was voted the most valuable player in high school by the associated press. His first college choice was Ohio State, but for some unkown reason they didn't want him so he went to South Carolina. Last year he was voted most valuable freshman. This year he may be South Carolina's most valuable player. Jan 1 at 11:00 AM Ohio State plays South Carolina, and I hope that Ryan, the Yankee, helps South Carolina beat Ohio State's Buckeye Butts.
EVERYONE ELSE - HOW ABOUT SOME LITTLE KNOWN NEWS FROM AROUND THE STATES AND AROUND THE WORLD.

Thinker,
Thinker,
I read earlier that brother's helper is from Toledo, home of Marco's Pizza. They imported it to Dayton a year ago, love it. Dayton is where Zazzu, Java and I live. Zazzu, my wife, and I grew up in the Akron area. If you look under the News subject you'll see some Ohio news that I wrote there.
When my wife and I were early in our marriage we went to the Canton Football Hall of Fame, where a film there explained how the game works. She joined me in becoming a Cleveland Brown's fan. I think she had a crush on the quarterback, Frank Ryan, who had a PhD in math besides being a good athelete.
I can tell you of nice places to visit in the Akron area, if you'd like to know.

JW Dictionary
by thinker inwarning !.
the following "dictionary" may be very discomforting to true believers of jehovah's organization.
if you ask too many questions about these things you are told " jehovah will make it all clear in time.

Thinking,
I like your thinking. A couple of days ago, I was thinking along similiar lines, must be inspiration. I came up with some definitions from A to Z. Hope you like them.
Apostate - someone who knows the history of my religion.
Babtized - someone who can stop thinking.
Congregation - people who will never see the new world because they are more imperfect than I am.
Demonized - someone who beats me at an arguement at their doorstep.
Elders - electricains who make good psychotherapists.
Freindship - what you show to those who meet their quota.
God - the deity who can only be reached indirectly as in "through Jesus Christ our Lord and the Watchtower Society".
Hell - a place I'm living in right now.
I - Never use the "I" word - you need to be humbled.
Jesus - the perfect man who died for our sins, but is just an after thought today.
Kingdom Hall - an awe inspiring building that gives a spiritual feeling.
Love - What I show you if you obey all the rules.
Mother - someone to disfellowship, if she starts acting a little strange.
Nanosecond - How long it takes me to change my mind, once I read the new Watchtower.
Open Mindness - What the householder should have, but something I shouldn't.
Pioneering - a carreer path leading to povery.
Questioning - an obscene word.
Responsibility - the only thing in my life - no time to go fishing.
Sex - something that should be done only after a long prayer.
Tact - lying.
United States - King of the North, although it's due west of the King of the South.
Virgin - a woman who has never been french kissed.
Why - a forbidden word.
"X" - many bad words xmas, xjw,

Zoo - a place I've been living all my life.

Struggle,
If you won't get disfellowshipped, then I think you should marry the man.
I wish you wouldn't practice verbal abuse on yourself, stuff about being evil, terrible, bad, whatever words you used. Doesn't it say clearly that we have all sinned and fallen short? A lot of OT sinners where a lot worse than you and they were judged as OK. Peter denied Christ three times and he was forgiven, and some JW's elders and others have done some pretty rotten things. I think your "sin" is very minor by comparison. In fact, I think it's so minor that you shouldn't bother the Elders with it. They're busy people.

Struggle,
A lot has been said here, and I can't really add more to either side of the issue. I would like to ask a "what if" question. What if the love of your life went with you to the kingcom hall, say once a week for a couple months, then you got married at the kingdom hall. Would they marry you their? If not, and you married somewhere else, say a civil ceremony, not a church, would you be disfellowshipped? I guess what I'm asking, are there any alternatives between the two extremes? -

:) :) Armageddon - it came invisibly, and we are living in an invisible paradise.
Actual Choice: Tiger Woods - first time in my life I ever watched golf on television.
For those of who think I'm superfical, shallow, and obtuse. You're right, and I love it! (and I can cite 45 scriptures to prove it)
Tiger Woods meant more to me than Bush and Gore combined.
