by Larry inwhat was your reasoning for justifying the lack of minority representation on the gb?.
i defended the borg vigorously for the all white gb.
my reasoning was: at the time the borg started up in the 1800's it needed well educated men to get it establish.

A 'cult start up course' in the mi...
by Larry inas i was reading " beyond mormonism: an elder's story" by james spencer(www.mazeministry.com/resources/books/beyondtext/aacontents.htm) i couldnt help notice the blazing similarities between the mormon and jws.
i was just wondering, was there a cult start up course in the mid 1800's, b/c it seems that many cults used the same rhetoric and techniques.
i know there were many mormon/jw comparisons posted already, so ill just add my two cents.

Let The Dead Bury The Dead
by Larry inyesterday was the first time me or anybody else visited my father's grave site - he died in 1977. he was a non-jw and never liked the them, but he liked the fact that my mother was.
ironically, i think he died the same day as nathan knorr.
anyway, this experience has helped me to see the real meaning of 'showing respect.

by Larry inin reading many on-line post by ex-jws since 1997 i have to admit that i never knew there were so many people who were dfd / dad before the computer age.
you guys have my deepest respect.
the reason being - you didnt have a support group like this one to fall back on - you guys were on a solo mission.

Amway, Quixtar, etc. vs. WTS
by Larry inamway, quixtar, and other mult-level marketing schemes vs. wts.. if there is anything an ex-jw cult member would recognize, it would be another cult!
i say that b/c my uncle is an 'hardcore' quixstar member (ibo) and the more i talk to him the more similarities i see btw quixtar and the borg.
of course he doesn't see quixtar being cult-like but to some one on the outside looking in the organizations mirror each other.

Letter of disassociation to my JW family
by Larry ingreetings - would some one please confirm that the aug 2002 km has the article entitled "display christian loyalty when a relative is disfellowshipped" i want to be accurate with my quotes in this letter.

Amount of Time Not Speaking to You
by Larry inquestion to all ex-jw's whose family refuse to have contact with them - how long has it been since the last time your relative(s) spoke to you or had any meaningful communication w/ you?
it's been over a year since my mother, sisters, cousins and aunts had any real communication with me.
i've read a post last week and i think someone said it's been over 20 years since one of their relatives spoke to them!
