i have been reading the previous posts today and have noticed some pretty heated depates on politcs with, rightfully so, locked threads.. all of us on this board come from many different countries with different forms of goverments and benifits.
everybody thinks that they have the best and are willing to defend that view.
i would hate to see any of us lose "friendships" on this forum over debates that have no winners.. i enjoy posts from everybody that is involved in these discussions and would hate to loose the insights they provide on every other issue besides politics.
Many people think that allegiance to/love for the president is somehow patriotic and synonymous with love of country. They are of course wrong, in that if the president is hurting the country, then allegiance to/love for him is anything but patriotic. For whatever reason, these people had no trouble understanding this when Clinton was president.

an elderly jw lady that i love dearly passed away this week.
i didn't find out until today when i called my mom.
my father knew but didn't tell me when i spoke to him on wednesday---nothing to do with jwism, he's just forgetful.
Soledad...sorry for your loss.
I still attend JW funerals when someone I cared about passes. Or when someone I care alot about looses someone in their family.
I am not DA'd and the JW's always end up showing up more at the house after I attend a memorial talk.....but I refuse to let that keep me away from paying my respects.
There are many people that I still love at the KH...it's difficult.

There are alot of ignorant-ass young dubs.
"Noah's Ark boy" will definitely leave eventually, but for the wrong reasons, and he will be guilt stricken and "come back to Jehovah." Then he will F-up again and leave and feel like shit....then he'll come back to Jehovah........
Why? Because he wants to sustain himself on the milk of apostasy: sex drugs and rock and roll,
instead of the meat: false doctrines, C.O.C., the UN scandal, JW history, Mexico, Malawi, their editorial version of the bible, 607, etc. (the truth about the troof).

i'm currently going back to school to study biology and biomimicry.
i'm hoping to work to develop green technologies - better energy sources, better product packaging, better waste disposal, and so on.
i'm concerned for the earth, and i sometimes wish that everyone would suddenly start consuming less or more responsibly, but i realize that it simply will not happen overnight.
I live in Indiana in a suburb of one of the largest cities. Here most wouldn't bat an eye if you threw the can in the trash.
One problem is that we are charged extra for garbage pickup if we choose to have recycle pickup as well.
Yes once again I guess it comes down to the all-mighty dollar. The alternative, halling the stuff to the recycle center yourself, it would seem, requires too much time and effort.
Your right, the solution really requires not only a culture shift, but some unique ideas that make conservation cheaper, easier, and require less sacrifice. Sad but but true.

my huband's family were in for a few days this week.
seems like his daughter and son in law love chocolate martini's.... they mixed me one then i mixed a few....i was quite impressed with this new drink.
Chocolate martinis are great..for desert.
Another good one in a pineapple- vanilla martini.
