  james olsen and richaed wheellock both bethelites.. rich templet.

  rich and james out of guilt, richard out of depression.. james and rich were both under 30 years old.. after richard wheelock (a bethel heavy) killed himself the society changed it's stand on whether suicides could be resurrectioned or not..

  i can't see myself not attending.

  i would feel horrible not to go.

  Peaceful Protest/Demonstration in Toledo, OH

  my friend has organized a demonstration bringing attention to the shunning in the jws.

  there won't be any yelling or anything, just standing with a huge banner about the shunning policies.

  the demonstration is today, at the seagate convention center in toledo, oh, which happens to be where the jws hold their dcs.. anyway, i'm going to go out there, not really sure what will happen.

  Humans have only been around for 6000 years? I have a question...

  of corse i know that we've been around much longer, i think it's more like 250,000. what i'm wondering , is it even possible to turn 2 people into almost 7billion, in that short period of time?

  and during that time, two white, or probably some shade of brown people gradually became all the differnt races we have today?

  that dosen't seem logical, i know jws aren't logical, but did this ever cross anyones mind while they were in this religion?.

  Was Jesus' sacrifice really necessary? Or even a sacrifice at all?

  does it make sense that after adam ate of the fruit god would condemn all of mankind until jesus sacrificed himself?

  does 1 perfect person's sin really equal 1 perfect person's sacrifice plus billions of imperfect peoples death and suffering?.

  jesus' sacrifice to save mankind really was not a sacrifice at all if he knew he would be raised up after 3 days.. .

  A baptism question for Morbidzbaby (and the rest of ya'll).....

  i read morbidzbaby's comment on the post http://www2.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/206838/1/a-question-to-the-ex-jws were she said that she got baptized "hoping that it would sort everything out".

  this got me thinking about the whole jw ritual of baptism and dedication.

  i look back and recall that i never privately "dedicated" myself to anything or anyone before taking the "dip".. the wt teaching is that a person should privately dedicate (via prayer) themselves to jehovah before publically going through the ritual.

  i know this is minor, but it bug me and i wonder if any fellow atheists have noticed it to.

  im talking about the random capatalization.

  like i can understand why you would write god with a big 'g', but whats up with writing he or him or the holy one or lord or whatever?.
