The parking is definitely going to be an issue, the tigers play the Red Sox that weekend also, for those of you that don't know, their ballpark is literally next door to ford field. so add another 45k people trying to park also. I'm actually going to a game that weekend, I can't imagine how happy I'm gonna be celebrating my birthday being 5 beers deep and seeing all of the people leaving the convention as I'm stumbling out of the ballpark on Sunday afternoon! Lol

As someone who has been to Ford Field many times (thankfully for a much more exciting Sunday afternoon) the place is awesome. But the parking is going to be fun to watch (I work in downtown Detroit), they will be parking 5/6 blocks away next to crack houses and will be walking past hundreds of bums/beggars, I wonder how many will give them a tract and day jah will provide! Lol
to answer your question blonde, the silverdome would routinely get to 100 degrees inside in the summer, no AC, I'm sure that's why they mentioned that, every year several elderly attendees would pass out from heat stroke!

Peaceful Protest/Demonstration in Toledo, OH
by serenitynow! inmy friend has organized a demonstration bringing attention to the shunning in the jws.
there won't be any yelling or anything, just standing with a huge banner about the shunning policies.
the demonstration is today, at the seagate convention center in toledo, oh, which happens to be where the jws hold their dcs.. anyway, i'm going to go out there, not really sure what will happen.

Humans have only been around for 6000 years? I have a question...
by KristiKay inof corse i know that we've been around much longer, i think it's more like 250,000. what i'm wondering , is it even possible to turn 2 people into almost 7billion, in that short period of time?
and during that time, two white, or probably some shade of brown people gradually became all the differnt races we have today?
that dosen't seem logical, i know jws aren't logical, but did this ever cross anyones mind while they were in this religion?.

does 1 perfect person's sin really equal 1 perfect person's sacrifice plus billions of imperfect peoples death and suffering?.
jesus' sacrifice to save mankind really was not a sacrifice at all if he knew he would be raised up after 3 days.. .

A baptism question for Morbidzbaby (and the rest of ya'll).....
by Mr. Falcon ini read morbidzbaby's comment on the post http://www2.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/206838/1/a-question-to-the-ex-jws were she said that she got baptized "hoping that it would sort everything out".
this got me thinking about the whole jw ritual of baptism and dedication.
i look back and recall that i never privately "dedicated" myself to anything or anyone before taking the "dip".. the wt teaching is that a person should privately dedicate (via prayer) themselves to jehovah before publically going through the ritual.

Yeah I was Baptised at the age of 10. The year before my Book Study Conducter said that if you are old enough to understand what I am saying, and the end comes and you are not baptized you will be desroyed with the rest of the world. That really makes an impression on a 9 year old! And everyone knows how the rest of the story goes.
