  i haven't posted for a while, but my friend linda (fullofdoubtnow) has kept me updated with what's been happening on the board, so i've been with you all in spirit.

  i've managed to keep myself fairly busy since leaving the witnesses though.

  i am attending a couple of evening classes, on tuesdays and thursdays, keeping busy on former meeting nights, and i have been going to church on sundays, something i never in my wildest dreams thought i'd do at the beginning of this year!.

  I did the same when I left...enroled on a few classes - time much better spent! eh?

  Funny funny that you should now be attending a Baptist chuch...my uncle & auntie are well into it - have been for many years. I do find them a bit overly into it sometimes, but they stress that there is no pressure.

  Shunned by an old friend

  in all the years i was a jw, although i had many acquaintances, i only had 3 really close friends.

  two of them are no longer jws.

  one is trev, who is obviously a lot more than a friend to me now, and my friend marion left the wts a few months ago, with a lot of encouragement from me.. my other friend is still very much a jw, and when i was announced as no longer a jw last year, she phoned me to tell me how very upset and disappointed she was.

  It is so hard sometimes when we bump into old friends. The shunning rule is disgusting…and so very hurtful. Christ would not behave like that!

  Just remember that it’s only the JW belief system making her do that…over the years I simply blame the Governing body - the Witlesses at the top.

  I’m sure it hurts them a little too…they pay a price too.

  Hypocrisy on holidays, etc.

  i was just thinking about how hypocritical it is for jw's to declare things like birthdays, christmas, easter, thanksgiving, etc.

  as defiled because of their roots.

  their roots, their beginning, in the days of russell, are the things that they find disgusting today (the cross, birthdays, blood, etc.).

  her are a few pics from last night...some are relatives who i have not seen in many years.... pictures 1) sister & me 2) claire,ian n me 3) mum,and close family 4)daughter 5) long lost cousins...now found!.
