I'm so glad we no longer have to attend these boring assemblies which are just massive indoctrination centres and popularity contests. The last congregation we attended is having their assembly this weekend we've heard. We'll enjoy having extra sleep then going to Bluewater shopping centre.

Give a man a fish...give a Haitian a watchtower.
by maninthemiddle innothing feeds a starving person quite like a watchtower.. .

Oh yes, because an Awake! magazine that talks about bunny rabbits is really gonna feed/assist someone who has lost half their family as well as their home and possessions....

Social Networks are a threat to the Watchtower Society
by FrankWTower inin recent months there have been massive protests and demonstrations against autocratic rulers in the middle east and north africa.
many of these were possible in part because the protesters used social media services like facebook, youtube and twitter to get the word out and let the world know what was going on.
these services are so threatening to many governments that they're blocked in order to control their people.

Social Networks are a threat to the Watchtower Society
Good! It's a pity social networking didn't exist many moons ago. If there's anything that brings an end to this loco group of nutballs once and for all, the internet will have A LOT to do with it!

Hmmmmm........
I'm new to this board so I don't know the full history of the thread starter.
If this individual is telling the truth, I have to say that I'm really disappointed in some of the harsh responses to him. Granted, he might sound a bit 'all over the place' if you will, but as someone who has suffered depression as a result of the nasty jehovah wickedness cult, I know what it's like to literally lose your mind and suffer severe mental breakdown from the despair. It's something you wouldn't wish on your worse enemy, believe me. 2006 I went through it and it was the absolute darkest period of my life. So go easy on him, please. Yes, he may sound irrational and illogical, but how many of us DON'T know the extreme suffering this horrid, satanic group can inflict on people? That's what they do!
Come on guys, you should know better......
I want to assure brodan that he WILL get through this no matter how horrible things are now. Don't let these disgusting creatures win, they're not worth it. The elders can go to hell with their bullshit JC too.

Interesting stuff......I like reading posts from former elders.
Now I understand why a lot of these guys are the way they are. I long suspected most of them were just on a power trip, threads like this simply prove it by revealing what goes on behind the scenes of popularity contests, I mean, elders meetings.....

Is "Kingdumb Hall" really an offensive term?
by cyberjesus inif a friend of mine starts to say things out of emotion and i call him "schizophrenic" then that might be an insult.
however if he is having auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking then that word becomes a description of his situation.. now i ask you.
does the attendance to the kh promote intelligence?
-
Reality79
If any Jehovah Wickedness finds Kingdumb Hall offensive too bad, because it's an accurate description.
I find the term "worldy" far more disparaging...

How far are you on your journey away from the JW Org?
by punkofnice ini mentally left the org in march 2010. i stepped down as an elder after my lad got into trouble.
i researched the publications to make myself 'spiritually strong' but it backfired.. i was in mental and emotional turmoil, still on fs, the platform and meetings etc.
i had to force myself to conform to ever failing jw doctrine.. i announced to my family that i was not going back to meetings in august 2010 after the 'overlapping' joke of 'new light'.. i told the elders not to call.

Physically me and my wife are totally out but I've been faded for just under two years now and for her about a year and a half. The last meeting was the memorial we attended last year with my inactive sister.
It will take a long time to get it out my system. My wife isn't as far out as I am mentally and my sister amazingly still believes this wretched group is the "truth" and that she might go back to it one day. *sigh* I have two aunts who are dubs - one is in Jamaica the other is in another part of the country but she never bothered with me that much anyway and neither of them know I'm faded.
Sometimes the old feelings come back to me especially when I remember the few good people I knew, but in time I know the whole thing will just be a small dot and we'll be able to move on totally.....but we're getting there.

No doubt all the walkie talkies will be accusing him of trying to get as close as possible to the world without actually being in it.
Of course someone who has ambitions, doesn't live in borderline poverty, enjoys sports, isn't a MS/pioneer/elder by the age of 25, at least tries to be normal couldn't possibly be spiritual in the average JDub's eyes.
