has your perspective of the royal family, her majesty the queen, the national anthem, and maybe politics in general, changed since you left the borg?.

Does creating low self esteem in the R&F play into the hands of the GB?
by highdose inofficaly they say that they don't want the r&f to have low self esteem, they say that low self esteem is from the devil.. .
but they create a culture that cannot help but give their r&f crippling self esteem, the constant empasis is on looking at the flaws in oneself.
"pummeling" yourself because of your sins, all the publications tell us over and over again that we are "dust" and deserve nothing.. .

The organisation definitely encourages self esteem. When I've read and heard of people who know of a a witness they always mention how that individual either has low self esteem or feels unsure of themselves.
Funny that now I'm out that wicked organisation my self confidence is a lot higher and noticeable. I can express my opinions and views without feeling like I'm not being "humble" and I don't tone it down just because some over sensitive prick might get "stumbled".
The organisation just wants punks and sissies. No wonder JWs are seen as being a soft touch by outsiders.

If you tell someone their entire world is corrupt and will end at God's hand should you be surprised if you get punched in the nose!

now if you know that a culture has a history of intolerance and is violently prone to aggressively go after new and radical movements would you tell them they will be destroyed by god and not expect a very bad response.. this modern example reminds me of the deaths caused by rutherford and knorr taunting world leaders and religious heads of church.
the gbs bravdo led to our being mobbed..

Oh yes, the GB, living comfortably and protected all the way in New York City have been the cause of many a R&F witness suffering in a lot of countries over the years, with Malawi being one of, if not the most brutal example.
While they enjoy their free meals, regular flights, laundry washed, legion of 7 million+ fans etc, the foot soldiers are the ones who face the brunt of the persecution. Funny how Jesus put himself out there to face the mistreatment and didn't hide behind anybody, but the GB are nowhere to be seen whenever a R&F individual gets their face bashed in.

What was your most embarassing WTF experience with a fanatical witness??
by Reality79 inwe've all known those fanatical witnesses who are guilty of pdf (public display of faith) and always have to make a big song and dance to the whole world and let everyone and their dog know they're a faithful witness of jay hoover!.
1) when my mother first came in 'da troooof' this wacky, over zealous 'sister' was studying with her - you know the type.
this woman was one of those not so subtle individuals who would always talk loud in conversation and say the name jehovah a million times even when the conversation could have been about basketball.

Not my experience, but I remember when I was younger one of the youths in my hall was working with an older brother in field service and when they got on the bus, this guy made a sudden big announcement to everyone on the bus that his young field service partner had some good news to share with everybody!! Obviously it put the poor boy on the spot! He didn't know what to say and the worse thing is, three of his schoolmates were on that bus!!
They didn't even know he was a witness, so needless to say his school life was hell ever since, thanks to Brother Big Mouth.

i'll admit i've thought about it but not too deeply.. so, does anyone know why "true worship" didn't exist for all that time until god decided to grant russell special powers to determine truth?.

Some people will say that "Jehovah reads hearts" and if they're both good in Jehovah's eyes the one with cancer will get the resurrection and the other will survive the Big A. I also remember one elder saying Jah sees the bigger picture and will allow some people to survive Armageddon. TBH he was one of the very rare people in the org who didn't have that fire and brimstone mentality of the majority who believe that if you even sneeze too hard you'll get destroyed.

by flipper insorry for the redundancy of this being the 3rd article out of this magazine i've made a thread on- but i felt it was important to share these quotes from the aricle titled " make your way successful - how ?
" i think you'll see the extreme dissing of higher education here and guilt tactics used to discourage jw members from getting a college education or earning a decent living.. under the subheading " higher education " ?
it states, " a christian has a scriptural obligation to care for his family, and that includes providing for their material needs.

Oh sure, just like how they told the youth explicitly in 1969 to NOT pursue higher education because they won't grow old in this system.
I've seen way too many intelligent minds wasted because of this guilt trip inflicted upon anyone who even desires to do any form of studying.
Of course the society never provides financially for any of its members, so if you heed their advice and in 40 years time you don't have a pot to piss in, then that's simply your bad luck and not their problem. Meanwhile, the GB are living in a deeeeeeluxe apartment in the sky-y-y like The Jeffersons, without a care in the world.
