i live in pittsburgh, pa. for as long as i can remember we've always had our conventions in cleveland.

i think the year i was born was when we started going there.

it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.

and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.

I thought we never signed the Treaty of Versailles. Wilson helped develop it, but congress refused to ratify it. I was told it's one of the reasons we are not France's favorite.

other 'new light' I heard at my DC was with regards to us already being almost 100 years in to Christ's 1k reign, only 900 years to go!

WHAT???? I didn't hear about this. Are there more details? Seems like they are trying to infuse a lot of lost urgency.

Are you asking what my point was for posting definitions? My point was that we throw words like facism around at will when we don't like what people have to say. They confuse bombastic and sometimes insulting speech for fascism. Just like they often call Obama a Nazi etc. I was also pointing out that with the history that christianity claims, perhaps we should use a bit more care when throwing such terms around.

A strong argument, even an insulting one, is light years from being a fascist. Most of the atheists I know are vocal because they feel they are bullied by christians that try to legislate their agenda. We still have Sunday laws---why? So they get a little push back and suddenly we are fascists. Disgusting.

Was there anything different about you that helped you escape the WT?

for me i know it was because i was a reader.. i began reading books at the age of 13, this was in the 1950's.

because there were some serious family problems i had two escapes i could count on reading and associating with my friends at the kingdom hall.. as i devoured steinbeck, hemingway, wolf etc.

my world view expanded....it had to.

Reading and writing. When I started looking into bible accounts and tried to reconstruct the scenes as a writer would, it led to a lot of questions I wouldn't have otherwise asked. This led to research both in the WT material and secular material. I finally realized how impossible the flood myth was, and others soon followed.
