i tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .
the first several years they didn't bother me.
i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.
A couple of things. I told the elders strongly in a letter of resignation as an elder that I had doubts about the generation and about the double standard for elders' sins vs. publishers' sins. I told them that I wasn't fully applying the command (from the organization) to "know" the anointed and trust their guidance.
OnTheWayOut said the above. Can somebody tell me what that double standard means? I haven't heard this before. Thanks!

i got the biggest wtf look on my face when my coworker said this to me a week ago.
she actually felt comforted with the fact that the sinners of this world 'will just have to go.
' how is the comforting..
N. Drew: Who are you talking to? Burn forever? You said I said that
I followed the conversation:
Joliette: I got the biggest WTF look on my face when my coworker said this to me a week ago. She actually felt comforted with the fact that the sinners of this world 'will just have to go.' How is the comforting
Thomas Covenant: I was chatting a few months back to a Muslim doctor of science, therefore of a certain level of alleged education and intelligence, and eventually got him to admit that he believed that I, as an unbeliever, [hence the name Thomas Covenant] would be the ''fuel for the fires of hell''. Charming.
N. Drew: How? It is not comforting but it looks like it is true
But if you're just saying we die---that's cool. You'll die too. No biggie. Happens all day. My day will come too.

I know people like you glory in telling others they will burn forever, but you have opened yourself up to this by coming on a thread denouncing that people walk around telling others that they will burn forever---and then and do the same. When we disagree, we are mean. This is the part that doesn't look true:
Jesus said there would be them who go off into destruction.
People who assume, think it means they will be executed.
But it means they will not listen to the Prince of Peace and they
go off and cause destruction. What you reap, you sow. Sow hate?
You are a goat. Sow love? You are a sheep. When all the goats reap
hate and destruction what will happen to the sheep?
I don't know, but I think I am right on to believe there is just the one Earth.

It is not comforting but it looks like it is true.
What are you looking at? I have seen nothing to convince me this is true.
LOL, I can't see the pic, but I found the geeks! HELLO MY PEOPLE!

Really---you are going to shock us? Why do these bombs always fizzle to firecrackers by the time they hit?
.....bringing someone into the organization of jehovah's witnesses?
personally, i had several bible studies, but thankfully, never got any of them all the way to baptism.
my conscience is clear..
There are some nuts in our faith mind you, but, there are some genuine friends in here as well.
QB, ya know I like ya. And I know you are the eternal optimist. I am determined to help you see the error of your ways, and maybe that will lead to a study! But I will settle for the occasional reality check. So I'd like to ask you: Where are my genuine friends today?
I had 2 studies that moved to baptism. One of them was like a daughter to me. Yes, I am devastated. I was one of those that was effective in the ministry, and often had interested people come to the KH with me. I wasn't even a pioneer, and rarely put in more than the national average and usually had quite a bit less. So I was dangerous. I also planted lots and lots of seeds. I don't even know how to handle the regret.
