  Do YOU answer the door now?

  when i left the org the elders would come by at the most inopportune time at least every day sometimes twice.

  i never answered the door, i just continued doing whatever it was i was doing and ignored the pounding at the door knowing it ticked them off because they knew i was home.

  when the witnesses randomly come to my door now i still don't answer but have thought about it just to give them hell.

  They visited you every day? Sometimes twice a day? Man they must have wanted you back. We never got a visit after fading away.

  Now I have requested to be placed on the DNC list. I expect them to continue to avoid us.

  I think we all want peace. Even those of us that want to attack Iraq want peace. I also think that regardless if we do anything to Iraq or not we'll be attacked again. Those fanatics will always find a reason to be pissed off.

  So my thought is attacking them might reduce the amount of damage that Iraq can do in the future.

  Reading this thread is almost like watching an episdoe of the Springer Show

  (we love lesbians....... we love lesbians)

  But isn't it curious how a straight man enjoys the thought of a bisexual woman yet the thought of a bisexual man is a bit offensive??

  My bisexual daugher in law says she does not like bisexual men. Or rather that the idea of two men together isn't a turnon. Curious.

  What Would You Do With 18 Million Dollars???

  hi everyone.... just abit of a fluff thread really.... in australia there is an 18 million dollar lotto draw happening on the 15th of february... .

  it got me to thinking... what would i spend it on???.

  i know that the first thing i would do is pay off all my debts, buy 2 houses, one to live in and one to rent out, buy a new car, put money in trust funds for the kids and give some money to my family.... that still lives at least 10 million dollars... i would have to go on an around the world holiday (first class all the way) ok take of a million... .

  My 6th grade girlfriend

  about two months ago, i got an email titled, "think way back".

  it was from a woman i knew when we were both in the 6th grade in 1956. we were good friends for a few months, when i briefly attended school with her.

  we bonded and became very close in the 3 or 4 months that i knew her.

  Not too long ago thanks to the internet I was able to reconnect with an old friend. We became friends at age 5. We played sports together all the way through college and then he went on to play professional ball. I did not. I sucked I guess.

  I found him in Utah and he flew out here to meet up with me. I haven't seen him for almost 30 years. When I saw him it was like looking at his father. Then he says to me "wow, you look like your dad, a lot". That sucks too.

  But now we call every so often and e-mail each other often. He is shocked that I'm coaching highschool sports since as he says I was very uncoachable and the coaches always hated me.

  What to do when your family DOESN'T shun you...

  all right, i'm not dfd or dad; i just "walked away.

  " all my friends, save one, completely ignore me and basically shun me (the word on the street is i'm an apostate :) ).

  but my family, all hard-core jws except my more liberal mother, is causing some unsettling feelings.

  Bradley I'm glad to see you slowing down. I always used to think I was going to get DFed for something dumb too. This year when I heard that the elders were going to pay visits to all inactive ones to try and catch them celebrating the holidays is when I decided to DA myself. This way my wife would just remain inactive and since she always follows theocratic direction and is submisive to Jehovah's arrangement of things (yeah right) she would have to allow me to be a pagan and do the holidays without getting in my way.

  By doing this we are able to maintain contact with our son who is still a JW.

  If the elders were not going out of their way to bust inactive JW's (as happened to Princess and her husband) I would have just been content to remain inactive.

  By maintaining some relationship with your brother in law you'll be able to enjoy doing things such as spitting in his coffee when he isn't looking. You don't want to give that up do you?

  Hard to cut a blame shifter slack Brummie. Especially one that went back to change his messages so he could make himself look better and his wife look worse. But he got a couple of people to feel sorry for him. That's what he wanted.

  I do consider this board to be a support group. At a support group that I once moderated I felt that honest support was calling someone when they were really screwing up. If all we ever did was hug each other and make it a love fest then I felt we weren't doing our job. I have done similar things here to a user named gil when I honestly felt he was hurting himself by his own actions. I like Gil a lot but I felt that I needed to point out some mistakes he was making.

  This guy is a classic though. I'm not going to spend time attacking him for no good reason. But should he come back and post more of this stuff then I'll call him on it.

  I do not wish confuz harm in the least. I would love to see him open his eyes and recognize that his problems are less related to the JW's and more to his own behavior. When he does that I bet he can begin to enjoy his money.
