  that question was asked of active jws in good standing by richard hickman, whom many of you know, when he was doing research for a book he was writing.

  As unhappy as I've been with the WBTS I honestly don't think the rank and file membership would ever do such a thing. The basic witness I recall wasn't a killer. Would they empty their bank accounts? Many would do that.

  I asked many witnesses such type of questions when I was one. The normal answer is they wouldn't ask such a thing and if they did, then I'd know satan has taken over and I'd leave.

  this is the strangest thing that i have ever seen, and i have to ask cuz it's just sooooooo wacky, i'm just wondering what the hell it means: the jw guy that i have been seeing, well, he sometimes would wear two pairs of underwear?????

  is this usual to witnesses, or is he just trying to protect his goodies?

  or is he just a freak?????

  Mother's Letter To Start Off The New Year...

  i received this letter from my mother over the weekend, it came with a card and a special note to my children.

  i plan to let them read it someday, not today..... silentlambs.

  I have to agree with larc. Don't send the letter. Mom's letter was a result of years of brainwashing and emotionalism. She's a mom, scared, angry, but still a mom. Your mom. My JW son wrote me off a month ago. Gave me a very emotional phone call and followed it up with a nasty letter. I only responded once, I wrote him a short note and told him just this...." I love you". Today he called in tears. Said he understands how I feel. It took 3 weeks after sending him that note for him to respond.

  I feel I took the high road. Today my son followed me there. Yes he's going to stay a JW. But I have hopes. His bitchy wife, the "friends" nor anyone else could keep him away.

  Let mom stay on the low road for now. No reason to join her there. A short note like I sent was easy to understand and there were now hidden meanings, no agenda or anything else that could be twisted.

  What're the new spins going to be?

  i was talking with my wife and surmised that in ten years, there would be 'revision' in thought about blood, and that they would allow transfusions, (a conscience matter), but still forbid the eating of blood.. as to disfellowshipping, when it all hits the fan in the media, there may be a change, some time in the future regarding it.

  perhaps they will say to only 'spiritually' disfellowship the person, but not encourage the total shunning of them.. do those two hold any merit?

  what other things may change at the wtbts?

  I'm sure they will keep on DFing with shunning for a long time. I suppose soon they'll say you only need to publish 1 minute a year to be active. That would help stats.

  I think in the future they may bend on "non religious" holidays such as Thanksgiving. I mean 99% of witnesses all eat turkey on thanksgiving anyway.

  The blood issue is one that wont go away. I suspect they will "define" it better soon.
