well it seems like everybody and their neighbours dog is leaving the board.but for how long?they seem to leave and come back and leave and come back and....you get the picture.so my question is how long will..fill in the blank..take to come back.or will they leave at all?place your bets on this post!now belly up to the bar have a drink and let outlaws sportin ladies entertain you!

with the 4th anniversary of my parents death looming and the anniversary of their last wedding anniversary party where my family was together and happy for the last time just being past ....i was feeling kind of depressed and wanted to reach out to what family i have left.

i sat there and debated in my mind if i should do it...should i try and reach out to my sister..see if i could reach her across the barrier of the jw religion.

should i try to remind her that we are sisters...we were sisters before we became jws and we will always be sisters.

Xena it's a damn shame things get like this. I look at people like your sister and get sick. But she's been brainwashed over the years. If they started preaching every meeting that the sky was really green, eventually she would believe that too. So of course she's been told to stay away from the likes of you. She really believes she has to.

So, move on, enjoy your happiness and laugh all you can. Life really does get good.

the following figures from an article in newsweek represent the number of college graduates within each religious group in america.

can this be used to relate the intelligence of the membership of each religion?

I recall a young man doing a part during the ministry school a couple of years ago. He had just graduated from highschool. The elder was doing a part about youths and he asked this kid what his plans for the future were. He said he had thought about going to college but why bother, he could better serve Jehovah in the ministry. The end was nearly here anyway.

Well it's 4 years later, he is 22 and married with a child on the way. He works in the lumber mill these days. Wonder how well he's serving Jehovah there?

Pretty sad stuff. Althought the society has "opened the doors" for an education, the kingdom halls still seem to discourage it.

Silly question.......

i understand it but at the same time i dont understand it because i was born and raised a jw so i was always in their mindset.

but how does someone who comes from the world and joins the org justify going against every natural instict they have?

i mean its just unnatural to turn against your own flesh and blood.

OK, it's really simple. I joined as an adult. I had lots of "worldly" friends I turned my back on AND I turned my back on friends that got DFed. The simple reason is I'm an IDIOT. The warning flags were up all over the place, but the company line seemed to make simple sense. I think a huge part of it was how nice everyone was at first. They couldn't wait to help us. I'd have 6 guys here spliting firewood for me. I got sick and my wife had more help than she could handle. The love fest was overwhelming.

Then the other shoe dropped of course, right after baptism.
