  Turning positive attention on active members or customers

  when you buy a new cell phone, they give you a new pretty cell phone for cheap, waive activation fees and treat you too all this positive welcome attention.

  then once your in contract, it is deal with it sucker or pay a huge cancellation fee.

  when you order new cable service, they have these "free service" offers for the first fee months, and then once that is done, you call and ask about a ad you saw and it is "sorry, but that is only for new customers.

  Yes, so you have basically financed a better deal for someone who didn't have the insight to sign up when you did. Pretty much like the "newbies" in JW world now. They may be customers, but they'll never know about suffering through the hardliner days. All of the emotional suffering endured by generations of JWs has finally come home to roost at the WTBS. The religion has been watered down, and bears no resemblence to what the old timers put up with. Who would? After all, the network is so much better!

  17 Days: One Final Adventure

  i once posted here a copy of my empassioned plea to the watchtower society--i want my mother back.

  well, i just wanted to let all of you know that i got her back for a whole 17 days, and we had one final adventure together before she died, and there wasn't a damned thing they could do about it.. my mother is, was, a long-term loyal jw and i was her disfellowshipped daughter.

  i believe she was in an almost constant state of conflict over me because her very strong maternal instincts demanded she behave openly and lovingly toward me, while her wts-trained conscience demanded the opposite.

  I'll spare you the rest of the details. Suffice it to say, all I felt the whole time was a prevailing sense of love. Pure love. We got to be mother and daughter again. I got to treat her like a queen and appreciate her true nature apart from the JW stuff to which she was so attached. Too bad it took a fatal illness to bring out the best in everyone. My JW relatives were nothing but loving and helpful. Something we should all aspire to be towards each other all the time, not just in a crisis, me thinks.

  Announcement: Another favorable court ruling regarding Napa County lawsuit

  i'm thrilled to tell you about the latest court decision made in california a few days ago which kimberlee norris said would be announced today, monday, on jwd.. on july 3rd, i started a thread where the last two rulings in the napa county, california lawsuit, charissa w. v. watchtower, new york, et al., were posted.

  both decisions were favorable to the plaintiff.

  Another CA court has ruled that Defendants' documents are not protected by the penitent-clergy privilege.

  Of course not. There is no formal training required nor expected to be a 'clergy' in the Jehovah's Witness church! The bulk of the elders are men with menial jobs who have no respect in the real world.

  FLUFF WARNING......Dog owners/anyone watch the Dog Whisperer?

  i am notoriously run over by dogs.

  but after watching the dog whisperer i have been preparing for my new adoption with hopes of being more in control.. low and behold i'm cleaning my garage today and a neighbor strolled by with a huge dog.

  i waved and came into the street to see her new "monster" size dog.

  now i remember when we were jws and raising funds for a new kh, the money had to come from publishers pockets.

  It was like you have a yard sale and you can use the money however you wanted. You couldn't call it a KH yard sale.

  Seeing as how we used to make fun of churches holding "Strawberry bazaars" and what not, no we did not ever hold a sale to benefit the KH.

  So now after this article a whole bunch of little children who want to make "god" happy will spend 9 hours trying to sell muffins and what not.....and these kids weren't eve truthful! You can bet they would have collected a buck-two-fifty if they had said it was for JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES.

  Teach 'em how to lie and then let em spend their whole Saturday lying for you.

  ok firstly i have nothing against ladies, especially any of the lovely ones here - some of whom i recently had the pleasure of meeting in the flesh at englishmans bbq, and i must say what a great group of girls we have here!.

  anyway back to my question, a number of times i have noticed that some women seem to go quiet on you rather than tell you what they feel.

  almost like pushing you away because they can't speak about whatever it is.

  My experience is that most women (or the few I've known) kinda like a little drama and need something to complain about to her friends and coworkers.

  pre-teens don't count.

  Perhaps an "active JW in good standing" could mail a copy of that article to the Headquarters and ask if their position has changed since HIPAA was passed and enacted.

  'i've decided i'm not ready for a relationship' or 'I dont think we are working out because of such and such' ,

  women are taught that confrontation is not lady-like and most women (admittedly) avoid it at all costs. The fact is, the above statements could lead to confrontation. I.e., the guy is not just going to smile and say "whatever you say dear!" which can create feelings of fear and avoidance.
