for those of us who don't venture outside of the main forum, you don't know what you are missing.. in the above post, a newbie named harmony asks if anyone here has hsv (herpes simplex virus).

although i gave her what i thought was a rather nice answer, she hasn't replied.. that's ok, i guess.. but it did remind me of the time my father served on a jc where they reinstated someone.

lisa gave me the idea for this topic.. so, what are your ideas for some catchy song titles?

any genre will do.

1. i got mauled at the kingdom hall.

I would name my band the Electric Radio Biola for the crappy non-medical invention by Charles Craze Ratherflawed.

First Reaction To My UN letters

my husband called his cousin this morning and the first thing the cousin said to my husband was something like, are you aware that your wife sent us some information that was very disturbing to us?.

my husband let him know that he did not know i was sending out those letters but he had since done research on the info and found that i was correct.. the cousin asked my husband if he was aware that i could be in trouble for a letter like that.

my husband informed him again that i was telling the truth and he had called the un himself to verify.. the cousin said he would call the society to see if this is true but.

What I really like is the way the cousin went to Ranchette's HUSBAND, not her.

This speaks volumes about the way the WT regards women, as second class citizens.

Ranch, you are under no obligation to meet with the elders concerning this. I can smell that one coming.

Bobbing for apples anyone?

the october 8 awake!

journals has a cover article on .... you guessed it halloween.

it traces its roots to the celtic festivals.. "apples and hazelnuts, both viewed as products of sacred trees, were used to divine information concerning marriage, sickness, and death.

And they call this the 'meat' of God's word?

This is the 'deep spiritual food' that JWs are being fed? More like pablum to me.

Can they really condemn such an innocent activity based on its 'Celtic' or 'Pagan' roots?

And if so, should any JW really be wearing a wedding ring? Or having a bridesmaid?

I MOVED OUT!

ok, so i moved out on saturday.

i am not 18 for 17 more days but my mom asked me to leave early all the same.

on friday things got hairy, we had jw friends from out of town visiting, and i exploded.

Katie, good for you honey.

But beware, impulsiveness is a trait most young people have. Just make sure it doesn't burn your bridges.

If there is one lesson in this life I wish I had learned earlier, it is this:

DON'T burn your bridges. With family or anyone else. If they want to 'burn' you, let them. You can't control it.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you hang around here.

The best piece of advice I can offer you is GET A FULL TIME JOB immediately. This way, you won't be at anyone's advantage. Always carry your own weight. Take a year off, work full time and party safely. Then go to college and live your life.

when i first read these pamphlets in the late 1960s, i was somewhat impressed with the statement found that they had no advertising so as to remain free and unfettered of any commercial control or influence.. the october 8th, 1968 awake!

I swear to God, if I had a band I'm name them the Electric Radio Biola.

We'd probably go right to the top of the charts with hits such as, "Lick my boots, you little nonJW worm" and "Oh the mess you'll make when my God kills you!"

Shoot, I wish I could play bass.

Everytime I hear some dumb ass talking about how 'they won't fly now because they don't want to die like THAT'--I tell them, "Well did you quit your job too? I mean really, only 266 people died on the airplanes, and over 5,000 died sitting at their desk!"

(PS--to the rest of the world, I'd be real worried if I was you. Think back to the 1998 embassy bombings. They killed 300+ Kenyans and wounded 5,000 just to kill 12 Americans. BELIEVE me, it will touch every country.)
