Has to be the "Wrath of Khan" episode that seamlessly led to the movie. Ricardo Montalban was great in both.

I AGREE WITH THE JWs: THE 'SOUL' DOESN'T EXIST
by NAVYTOWN ini agree with the witnesses about almost nothing, but i do think they have the right idea when it concerns the 'soul'.
it is my belief that there is no such entity as a 'soul' that resides in a human being.
the idea originated in ancient, pre-scientific eras.

Sure Cantleave; You believe in those high end soles. Between the wife & daughters, I've had to buy a number of those soles. Who says you can't buy everlasting life?

What I Miss
by FreeGirl2006 intoday i had to drive by several homes of dubs i knew most of my life and it kicked off a longing i have for my siblings and the faux-friends i grew up with.
not necessarily the people in and of themselves, but people who knew me way back when.
being raised in the borg the only "friends" i had were indoctrinated.

Hi FG2006; I too, have left family & friends. I had 50 yrs. in & have been out 7 yrs. In the intervening years, I have made a number of new friends that share the same interests as me. This takes time & the conviction to move on. Keep looking forward; life is too precious to waste.

I always catch the Saturday sevice group at the Tim Hortons coffee shop in Geneva, NY. They must be converting donuts to the "Truth".

I've been stumbled.
by silent ini just realized that all these dates that the borg have said the end would come on or by and then it didn't happen, have stumbled me.
why such a fascination and trying to divine the answer from scripture when scripture plainly says only the father knows the day and the hour?
by their predictions, they actually sent many christians on the path of date-based worship insted of faith-based worship.. if they have stumbled me, then who is reponsible for that?.

"Stumbled" is indeed the wrong word. You have awakened. Congratulations. Like most here, you can now move forward with your life. The GB makes the scribes & pharisees look like choir boys. I had 50 yrs. in but I can't waste precious time crying over spilled milk. My motto; Live Well....Enjoy Life!!!

Killing In Self Defense
by Cold Steel inthe man was moving around in the darkness of j's home with a gun.
he was certain j. and his family weren't there, but he was wrong.
when a door suddenly opened and a dark figure fumbled for the hallway light, he had only a moment to act.

I always find it amusing the responses you get from people on the issue of self defense who have never experienced that terror. I live in a sleepy little village in upstate NY. I have a carry concealed permit & ususally have a 32 Beretta on me. Several weeks ago a deranged man attacked 4 of my construction crew that were working on my new home. I have a project trailer across a field & watched this attack. I ran out to the middle of the field & yelled at this guy to get off my property & that I was calling 911. He immediately ran towards me. He is about 6' 4" weighs about 220 & looked like a freight train coming at me. There was no way I was going to outrun this guy. Although armed, I did not pull a weapon as he had no weapon in his hand. As he got to me, I ducked the first punch but caught the second on the side of my face. This cut the corner of my mouth & punctured my cheek. He then grabbed me in a headlock & threw me on the ground. Now, believing he was going to break my neck & realizing I was in mortal danger, I rolled onto my back with this guy still holding me in a headlock so I could pull my Beretta out & empty the clip in this guy's chest. For no apparent reason he stopped the attack & walked away shouting to himself. By that time the state police arrived (whom he also attacked) subdued him & took him into custody. At the hospital, I needed 7 stitches to sew up my mouth & had to see a surgeon. To this day, I have no animosity towards this guy, but regardless, I have the right of self defense. It is a decision I had to make in seconds. I did call 911, but if this guy really wanted to, I'd be dead long before help would have arrived. Like I said, I live in a sleepy little village & was attacked on my own property. If it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.

by All for show ini stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago due to the jw.org ridiculousness, since then i haven't been able to pull myself away.

Welcome All;
I had 50 yrs. in before gaining TTATT. If you haven't read Ray Franz' account in Crisis of Conscience, I would recommend it. His account alone was enough to convince me to leave. I still believe the witnesses had a number of things right, but what they got wrong, they got tragically wrong. jwfacts.com rebuttal of 1914 is a must read. Once free of that deception, a number of others topple like dominos. In the end I've come to believe both Paul's & Jesus' view that there will be a resurrection of " the rightneous & the unrighteous"....basically everyone. That being the case; I no longer worry about the future. At my age I have no more time to waste on worthless endeavors.
Live Well.....Enjoy Life!!!!
