Wow that was excellent reasoning. Those questions are really thought provoking

First century disciples vs the Society
by Leander ini'm having a discussion with my wife about the society's changes in doctrines and failed predictions.
she basically is using the argument that the society is fallible just like the the first century disciples.
so this neatly excuses the society for any erroneous teachings or failed prophecies.. how would you counter-argue that type of reasoning?

How have appointed bros handled leaving the WTS
by Leander ini'm debating on when to actually decide and step down as a ministerial servant.
my conscience will no longer allow me to give talks or speak to others in the door-to-door work.. i'm feeling really apprehensive about what i need to do, i know for a fact that my wife is going to be devestated.. .
whats the best way to step down from an appointed position?

I've already talked with them, unfortunately the answers they gave me did'nt really have any substance.
One of the biggest concerns that I voiced to them was this:
If the society is God's spirit appointed organization why are there so many misunderstandings and changes in doctrines? To further elaborate on that point, would Jehovah's spirit move his organization to make numerous predictions that failed to come true?

it seems not all will see with clarity the hypocritical position of the organisation in this matter:.

The evidence is clear, in prior publications the Society has plainly made it known that the UN is a tool of Satan. And now we are to believe that in order to carry out the preaching working the Society needs to make use of a tool owned by Satan. The notion is preposterous, this is just outright wrong anyway you look at it.
I am disgusted

Whats your thoughts on sex & the WTS
by Leander inhopefully this topic won't shock anyone, i'll try to keep my comments as tasteful as possible.
just recently (last weekend) my younger brother met with the elders because he was engaged in fornication.
the elders decided to disfellowship him even though he had long stopped having any contact with the person he had been involved with.

Anyway this got me to thinking why are we as humans cursed with strong sexual desires and given very little outlet in relieving them? When I was going through high school all I could think about is sex no matter how hard I tried to focus on other things. In fact I hate to admit it but the only reason I chose to get married was to be able to enjoy sex without violating bible principles. I still love my wife, but I know for a fact that I was'nt ready for marriage at that time.
I can't count how many people I personally know who were discplined because of sexual matters. And to make the matter even worse the Society dictates what kind of sex you can't have even after you are married? Something just seems very wrong with the current view on sex.
Then what about gays and lesbians. It seems to me that many of these people obviously did'nt choose to be the way they are, they were born that way. It makes you think why should they have to be unhappy because of something that is'nt their fault.
Anyway enough of my ranting what are your thoughts on this?

Questions about the WTS and the UN
by Leander ini just learned about the society's connection with the un and i'm shocked.
i had been experiencing doubts before but this new information is like a slap in the face.
before i begin with the questions i should probably start with a introduction.. i'm a 29 year old married man serving as a minsterial servant in the south suburbs of chicago.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one going through this kind of emotional drama.
Roybatty - At this point I'm not sure if I even want to remain married. Thats probably a cruel thing to say but lately I've been wanting to just leave all of this madness behind and take some time to heal myself alone. I really feel bad about the fact I'm even thinking this way, but I feel like as a 29 year old man I have'nt really lived. Not to say that I want to party and go wild, its just that I feel like so many experiences I could have had were denied me as a witness.
I've never lived on my own, I've never travelled like I wanted to, I was encouraged to steer clear of college. There are so many things that I never did in trying to please and organization. Now I'm at the point where I want to enjoy my life and make the most of it.

JBean - I hope everything works out well for you. Its really difficult to even think about having to be alienated from all of your friends and family.
I'm seriously considering selling home and relocating to another part of the city. I just feel like starting my life over by myself.
