Help!! I am extremely confused.
by Leander ini'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.
i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.
also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

In continuance with my last post:
It clearly says in the bible that it only belongs to God to know the day and hour, so why have there been so many guesses or hints at certain dates in past teachings and articles? Its like that scripture was being totally ignored when the Society was publishing information in regards to previous dates that were to be of importance.
That kind of brings me to another question has any other religion made as many predictions as the WTS? Or has any other religion made predictions at all?

You Know - you wrote the following:
The amazing thing is that prophcies are encrypted in such a way that they cannot be understood by mere human intellect. The truth is, that only Jehovah, through Christ, can unseal prophecies at the time of their chosing, at least as far as such things becoming official teaching. Until God's spirit reveals how certain prophecies are to be understood we are greatly disadvantaged and cannot possible impart a clear and credible explanation. However, not being able to clearly understand prophecies in all their detail doesn't mean that he are not on the right track as far as serving God's purpose. In fact, it is God's stated purpose to conceal vital matters from his people for the time being until the actual time of Christ's arrival during the world's darkest hour. The upside of our being left in the dark on certain vital points, is that when apostate infiltrators are purged from our midst by Christ, that they will go out empty-handed, or empty-headed is the more appropriate term.
Now this what I have a hard time of understanding. Through various publications the society time and time again have referred to themselves as God's prophetic organization or mouthpiece, but time and time again this spirit-directed organization has made numerous predictions (or if you don't like the word prediction, strong emphasis) on different dates. If I'm not mistaken every last one of those dates failed to fall im harmony with what the Society said would happen. This would cause even the most sincere and humble person to begin having serious doubts. Why would God willfully want honest hearted individuals who seek to do the right become confused?
Also I still don't understand why there are so many contradictions and changes of doctrines if the Society is being used to reveal the deep things of the bible. Its honestly very confusing for a person who is trying to learn what is really true and what is not.

One more question for the people here.
This is not to say that I doubt any of the replies that were made here but why do the majority of the people who are associated with JW's have such a hard time shaking the feeling that they are doing something wrong by leaving the organization?
Do people who leave other religions have the same kind of doubts and fears?

Thanks for all the replies, I think over the next week I'll really put more time into investigating the Society and its beliefs.
Already I'm at the point where I can't in good consience give anymore talks, which means I'll probably be stepping down as a ministerial servant. One of the difficult things in a situation like this is that all of my family and friends will tell me I'm doing the wrong thing. Its just a tremendous amount of pressure, and to make it worse my wife is definitely not buying into anything I'm telling her. At this point I don't know how our relationship is going to turn out. To be honest I'm not even sure how I want it to turn out.

But on the other hand I can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline. JW's have learned many things about the bible that other religions don't know. Also their seems to be a certain unity and cohesiveness within the organization. The preaching work is done all over the world by witnesses.
Its just very confusing to know what to do at this point in my life.
I'm still doing research trying to learn a few more things. I really want to know all of the facts before I make a decision.
Some of the things I'm currently investigating are:
1. The date of 1914: I read an article that brought out that Jerusalem was'nt really destroyed in 607 BCE, if thats the case then that would invalidate the Society's calculations of the 2,520 years that ended in 1914. I'm trying to find some historical documents that verify what the real date for Jerusalems destruction is.
2. I've heard on more than one occasion that the society has changed some of the reprints of certain publications from the original printing. I'd like to find out if this is true and if so what was the information that was changed.
3. Finally this is the most important question out of the three. Is the society currently teaching anything that goes against scriptural basis? and can it be proven that the society in the past or present has violated bibical teachings?
I would greatly appreciate if someone could offer me insight on any of these questions and/or direct me to any websites that has pertinent information in regards to those questions.
Thanks

Maybe I should be a little more specific. What I had in mind was some type of herbal tablet or pill that can be taken orally.
I have no desire of even considering putting any equipment near my.. well you get the idea.
As to the reason why I've read some information more than once where it mentions that the average person carries a certain amount of waste matter in their colon tract. Over time supposedly this can lead to cancer and other health problems.
So to make a long story short in the pursuit of trying to keep my system clean and functioning well I thought it might be a good idea to try and get my colon cleansed.

Are there any bodybuilders on this forum?
by Leander ini've just recently started going back to the gym again and i have a few question for the fitness experts.. its suggested that you should take a day off in between working out with weights.
is the same thing true for pushups?.
does anyone know of a few bodybuilding sites?

Thanks for the advice, I think maybe I'll just do the pushups every other day.
I'm hoping to lose some weight but I also want to put on some muscle. But I want that muscle to be cut, well defined, etc.
I'm also trying to get the perfect abs. When next summer comes around I plan on being in top condition.
