i was told at an early age that if i didn't live by their rules - which included all the meetings and familystudy, before meal prayers and service andall that - i would be free to leave with the clothes on my back.

i know exactly what you mean.
the control is something you almost have to experiance to believe. how a person will defy all logic to stay controlled.
i strongly believe that religions are satans attempt to twist god and make the humans sin by adhereing to the rules of man.
but some don't get it. and they don't want to get it. which is strange, because the REAL TRUTH is uplifting and answers the big questions. which helps to lead to a fulfilling life in this world.
they are scared to leave the jail cell. they are afraid of the big world without old jehovah on their back. they don't want to. they WANT the jdub paradise to be true. it's so much easyer that way. there is a plan and steps and a goal. books to guide you through anything. real life is difficult to them.
so where does that leave us? are we special for figuring it out? were we special for being brainwashed?
are we mentally superior?
i believe that certain ones are chosen and then tested by everyone else around them. like job.
my parents and siblings are all jdubs still. brother is still mentally in.... i left at 15.

Do you work with any Dubs?

in four out of the last five jobs i've held i have worked with witnesses.
it got me pretty paranoid at times because i was a classic "double-lifer".

my boss used to be one, and him not being one made me think. he left after 1975. really got me thinking.
then he hires jdubs frequently. he knows they need money and are usually good workers.
but when i have them on my crew and i am in charge, they attempt to shun me.
they will not continue conversations, one word answers. they are not social with everyone on site. they are scared of the world.
i personally hate having to work with them because all i want to do is get in their brain and undo the brainwashing, but all i do is push them in deeper.
THEY REFUSE TO THINK. IT's EASiER THAT WAY.

Im a mormon
by deservingone26 inim a mormon now and have been one for the last 3 months.
at first i really liked it but now i am starting to have 2nd thoughts, i grew up as a jehovahs witness and was disfellowshiped at 19 i really started to look for a new church in july of this year.
i started out in a christian church which i really liked but i didnt understand the jesus as god thing/trinity.

whay i ask is if you had read the warnings about false prophets in the bible, you would have no problem figuring this one out for yourself.
remember, they will become angels of light to decieve you. question everything and demand a reasonable logical answer.
read and understand what the ancient scrolls have to say.
the god of heaven does not live in man made temples.
RESEARCH is the key to the answers you seek.
i just hope you have the diligence to do the research. most get lazy....and never fix the situation they are in.

Zid and JeffT - you are absolutely correct. because of 1 bolt the whole dash came out. found some old parking stubs from the 90's.
my car is a homemade 2.0l awd turbo. pushing 14 psi, full turbo system approx 300hp. then there is my talon - almost 400whp.
if anyone is interested, i will continue to comment about my cars on this thread. much better subject matter.
