....and I saw Elders who were supposedly under the direction of the spirit commit incredible wrongs and continue to serve.

@stuckinamovement - This is primarily one of my reasons for nolonger wanting to be in this organization. I saw things first hand with my husband, his father, his brother, his friends....all elders and ministerial servants doing MANY things they had no busy doing as Men of God. I have no respect for an organization that REFUSES to see the selfishness these men put their families through and above all, the VILE way of life they lead.

I am glad that you have had an awakening, after all these years, to enjoy life............YOUR LIFE!!!! I read the part where you said you would scream at your family simply trying to get ready to leave for the KH. It reminded me of the fear I had of displeasing my husband if I was running late from work to travel 13 miles home, to get our 2 young children ready for the meetings in cold frigid weather and travel back to the meetings (13 miles out of our territory to attend the KH that HE grew up in...)! I wasn't afraid of Jehovah. I was afraid and stressed out and sick to death to hear my father-in-law or any of the 'friends' call my husband at work or on his cell to tell him that I and the kids has 'just arrived' after being 30 mins late to the meeting. I would get demeaned everyday for years due to the craziness/control of this religion.

It makes me feel really good to know that you stood up to the organization for the sake of your family and the love of your family!!!!! I wished my husband had done this YEARS ago. We would still have a family...I would still have a marriage.

My Uncle is Dying.

nearly a year ago my uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer - he initially thought it was just a bladder infection and it took him passing out to go have more serious tests.

thus he received this news and shared it with us, his family.. the family rallied behind him and we all did everything we could to get him to his treatments, make sure he ate properly and supported him.

my cousins came out from the uk when it looked like he was going to die in a couple of days.

The preparation of specific food s and things is one of the MOST wonderful gestures, LouBelle. That is so very kind of you.

It was so funny. Just 5 days before Dad passed he a LIST of things before he left this life. At 11:49PM! lol!!!! I was so happy and felt it a privilege to be there to go out and supply the last things he wanted to taste. The last 2 days, he didn't eat or drink anythingelse.

Your uncle will always have this thought of you in the recesses of his memory.

Hello, Lou - I cried so hard upon reading this. I share your pain and I do pray that Jehovah will bless your family with peace of mind...most of all your uncle.

I love the way you 'physically' gave us a picture of your dear uncle before this cancer ravaged his body. Our beloved Dad was taken away from us last summer in 2010 due to colorectal cancer. He was not just stunning in appearance but, EVERYBODY ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIM! He was taken down to nothing once the cancer took his last breath. I cry for him everyday because, 'how can a person who loves life so much be diminished to less than zero and then be without the glorious breath of life'??????? Just sad.

But, you are right in this regard....LET YOUR UNCLE KNOW THAT HE IS LOVED!!!!! That's what we did with Dad. He expressed to us his love, his anger why he had to leave but at the same time, always stoic and uplifting.

Upon leaving, he told us all, "I love U". Then, he fell asleep in death.

I hope there is a resurrection for all of us to share life again. This COULDN"T be all there is.....

Life after death

everyone has different views about life after death and whether or not it is a possibility.. as jehovah's witnesses, we were always taught that there is no life after death, that this is the only life we have now and that the wages of sin is death.. .

Well, why I believe this is all we get? Look at the account with Job's children being killed in the storm. Why did Jehovah bless him with mor 'beautiful' children? Why didn't he resurrect the ones that died in the storm? Why didn't he show his power, then? Really, Job and his wife just 'procreated'. The same thing they did to get the first group of children here.

I'm like a few of you. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE. My heart/mind DOES tell me I will see my father again whose life was cut short at the age of 66 due to cancer. I REFUSE to belive that this life is all there is. I absolutely think reincarnation is absurd. I don't think it's fair and is very demeaning.

Has anyone thought of why he just didn't bring Job's children back?????

i met a gorgeous lady yesterday and she shows too much cleavage.

i see her facebook page, all of her pictures has cleavage in them, i would not want to date her because she shows too much all the time.

i am tempted to tell her to cover up her cleavage, she might not like me telling her that.

Out of 10 elders in ANY hall I've been to, if i gave them a keycard to the hotel room DURING the assembly/convention...9.5 of them mutha's would show up and screw the sister!!!! And get on the symposium 30 minutes like they were a virgin! lol!!!!

Always looking at our cleavage, our legs. Then, up on the stage talking about whay you shouldn't commit fornication, etc, etc.........

If you tell her to cover up....she needs to slap the sh** outta U!!! LOL!!!!! Enjoy them and allow all the other perverted Jehovah's Witlesses enjoy them, as well! I hope ur not talking about my pic on FB! Cuz I've got a BEAUTIFUL rack, too!!!!

You're so right! My anger does come out in my posts. This site has given me so much relief. It just pains me to see how people can't see the destruction this or any other religion is bringing to their family. My husband is at the point he is BEYOND desperate to hold this together. It's in the 11th hour. I have no more respect for him and do not LIKE him. I love him but do not like him. This religion has turned him into a zombie.

I want no parts of it. Thanks for your encouragement!

@greupjw 1969 - I feel for you. This is, by far, the worst feeling in the world aside from losing a loved one in death. I agree with NUGGET. He is distancing himself emotionally. You've exposed him. For alot of JWs, people in genereal, things done in the dark will eventually come to light. You are 'that light'. You could still have him exposed just with conversation with other JWs, if you were to return to the KIngdom Hall. He could be afraid that this exposure could still bring him down, as it were. He is just like a snake. Viporous and cunning he is. He has to keep up appearances AT ALL TIMES knowing that you are lurking in the wings. He needs to be ready to strike at any given moment. You will ALWAYS have something to hold over him. He doesn't know if you'll surface with this information one day. He may be looking at you with the eyes of having a 'motive-based' relationship. I have sat back and watched MANY witnesses as time has gone by since I nolonger attend. They know there are things that I know about them that could possibly take them off their 'thrones'.

I hope that the letter will suffice. And, like noted, your Dad may read it over and over. If Jehovah, and not the Borganization, is TRUE to him his heart will soften and come to love his daughter.

JWs who do a "disappearing act" because of damaging gossip and trouble in the hall

i know of a few jw friends who from time to time have to do a disappearing act from their hall.

one jw finds a "reason" to leave town to visit relatives and another jw would go to "visit" another hall in a nearby vicinity.

in all honesty, they are fleeing from the strife in the kingdom hall when they are in the spotlight.

This is simply amazing to see how universal this is! I have NEVER liked it. My parents taught us well in never becoming a part of it. Being married to an elder, at the time, sisters in field service EXPECTED me to know stuff and if I did...why am I not telling them! I was appalled because MORE THAN ANYTHING....THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE TRUTH!!!! Why are we gossiping about things we ought not? Yes, it is a destroyer!

I remember, years ago, I had a gathering in my home. Some sisters got to 'gossiping'. I controlled the enviroment and was like stop it! Not in my house! I don't gossip! I deplored it! Well, to my surprise, the brothers called my husband and I got mixed up in their SH** in the backroom! I had NEVER been in the backroom and was beyond the highest pissivity there has ever been!!!!! The lies that went on were out of sonic proportions!!! JW's telling lies to cover their own ass'?????? YUP!!!!!

And, because I nolonger attend, I am part of the gossip-trail. I just wished some of it was true because I'd be one rich and expensive whore of some famous baller!!!! How can I wish that for myself????
