surely these two events/situations/happenings mean little, nothing even, to those in the real world.. but since we're witnesses( some participatory) to them, they've affected us.. alot "went down" in a relatively short period of time.. do you feel the effects have been mostly positive, an opportunity to grow perhaps?.
or do you feel adversely affected?.
what about any lasting effects( positive or negative) you think they may have on the way ex-jws interact as a community?.
Personally I was not surprised by either incident. When you look at the stats...two people out of thousands having severe issues...is less then the population as a whole. There were red flags with both situations from the beginning. If people are really honest they probably thought that there was something not right with both situations, but chose to believe the best. Learn and move on...it is life. I am sorry for those that where hurt by either one of these incidents.

hi,i have just registered here because i need someone to talk to in a way that wont end me up before a jc.i have been reading a lot of stuff recently about the wts being false prophets and the like.i also hate the fact that there are so called "spiritual" men out there who abuse their positions to molest children.i have been a witness now for 20yrs but instead of feeling spiritually alive i feel totally and utterly confused.i do not know which way to turn.anyone out there who feels the same ?
share your thoughts with me ..please and help me unburden myself to someone.

Welcome to JWD...we are glad you are with us. Leaving the JW religion is a process...takes time. Take baby steps, and learn all you can about the "truth" of the "lie."

one of my best friends and ex-room mate who still remains a jw called me just 4 days ago asking me for info regarding emergency medicaid.
he had been hospitalized for almost a month and had no health coverage at the time so he called me knowing that i'm a know it all.
even before me being df'd he would always be afraid of his parents knowing we hanged out together so that made it even more fun!
You my friend are the real deal......I am so glad for your friend he has you.

i saw this earlier.. i'm so sorry - it must be painful for two people who love each other to have to part this way - one goes through the door alone and the other stays behind alone.
all the more because my wonderful nephew was killed in an auto accident today, a young man with three children.
death is so cruel.. and in the wake of such terrible news today, i did not miss what you had said, but rather blocked it out for a moment.

hello my friends .
well, i just wanted to share our special day with you guys too , because you folks have become close like family to us !
for mrs. flipper and myself being in our late 40's, early 50's, with all the challenges we had over the years before we met, being with the wrong people who took advantage of our kindness when we were both in other relationships , we truly do feel it is a miracle that her and i finally found each other later in life and found real happiness in a marriage.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You both are in inspirition to many of us. It is wonderful that you can find true love after the cult, and its affects.

my wife and i were both raised as jw, we were both baptized when were fifteen years old.
Thanks for coming back and telling us what happened with your JC meeting. I have been looking for an update ever since you first posted.
For all the young people out there, and on behalf of your son's I thank you for standing up for them. As difficult as this is for you....it has even been more difficult for them. Let them experience life, sports, art, education. All the things denied to most of us...it is the reason why I left. I wanted my kids to have a life, not grow old and regret that they didn't have an education to support them.
Please keep coming back we are here for you. I am proud of you.

i joined this forum a couple of days ago and didn't want to just keep lurking, so here goes!.
my family have been jw's since before i was born, i was baptized at 12.i have six sisters, only one who still attends meetings.
my mom and stepdad no longer attend either.. i met and married my so in the congregation that i attended.
Welcome glad you are here with us. You will find that most of us are pretty tough skinned...you are not going to offend us with any belief that you have.
