  I can't talk to my parents.....

  as you can see from my posts i'm new here.

  i was born and raised in the borg....dad was/is an elder.

  i never liked the religion simply because it stopped me having fun like other "normal" kids.

  What you witnessed was truly awful....but if you put it in context, doesn't the JW religion do the same every day? Maybe not physically killing their own, but with disfellowshipping etc they turn their back on their own children. Because of turning their backs on their young, many have committed suicide. They will allow their children to die instead of giving them blood. Can you really say they are any less blood guilty then those that hold fundemental beliefs that you saw in Iraq? The JW religion just looks better from the outside...but when you look closely same behavior just more insidious.

  Wife finally sees truth about "the truth"

  well it has finally happened.my wife is not going back to the meetings again.as you would probably read in my previous posts, i have written a book about my experience in the watchtower organisation which is on the verge of being published.she still tried to cling to what little belief she had in the borg and did not want to read my manuscript.we discussed many of the issues and concerns i had about the watchtower but most of the times it ended in a heated argument.. i was quite surprised when she approached me about two weeks ago and asked to read my manuscript.after reading it she handed it back to me and said she fully supports me in publishing this book.her eyes have been opened to the deception and lies.i think she and a friend had a bad experience calling on one of her so-called jw friends.furthermore, she did not attend this past weekends circuit assembly..

  hooray!!!.

  all i have to do now is to introduce her to all you wonderful people here on jwd.. jakes.

  The Wedding.............

  as some of you know i am a wedding florist(side job) - just a few pictures of what i do.

  this is what i have been doing for the past couple months(planning part).

  this wedding took me a little over 35 hours to complete.

  I can't believe they just sat there...

  saturday i photographed a witness wedding .

  during the part about the woman's role the speaker made the comment to the new bride ,"don't try to manipulate your husband .....we know how you women can be ...!".

  my jaw noticeably dropped and i uddered " what the heck " as i looked around to look for support from other women there,.

  How sad for some jokester to wreck your wedding. I also hated those "brothers" that thought their inappropriate humor was so funny. I am sure there were many woman inside that were angry with what he said. That is what you learn as a good little JW wife, is to hide the rage that is playing in your head.

  On the flip side I went to a friend's wedding on Saturday. She is Irish, so deciced to have a celtic wedding. It was beautiful. Her and her daughter's have blonde hair to their waists, they had their hair flowing with flowers around their hair, white dresses, and had no shoes on. Celtic music was playing, the groom had on a kilt, and they all had on the colors that represented their families. I felt like it was part of the movie that Mel Gibson was in. The men were HOT. Anyways, isn't it nice that we now can experience all different types of weddings, instead of the old hum drum weddings at the KH.

  I am so angry and frustrated right now

  i cannot be very specific with this because i do not know who is patrolling these boards to try to catch faders (like me).

  my mother has been very ill for a long time due to multiple health issues, all of them stemming back to a very low blood cell count.

  before i even began to have doubts, as well as my father asking me about the 1975 debacle, i kept wondering why god (i can't call him jehovah now that i know the truth) would allow such a wonderful and selfless person to suffer if all they needed was something that was produced naturally in our bodies.

  I am so sorry Elinor...what a screwed up religion that allows it memebers so uncaringly say.."Well we will see you in paradise, and have many years there." HUH!!!!! it is just so cold. I hope she makes a turn around in her health.

  Going to Church this Morning

  i go just to please my wife and the people there are friendly and it gives me something to do on sunday morning.

  it also gives me a first hand view of what religion is like for some people.

  it only last for about an hour.

  i have to admit im a real sucker when it comes to those.

  always have been interested in the subject.

  in fact, my old house was full of relics somuchso that my ex used to tell me you are turning this house into a museum lol.

  I love any kind of history. I also collect old or vintage things. I live in an old victorian home, that I fixed up...lots of work, but I do love it. I am now mixing old with handmade. I am really into supporting local trades. Whether that be furniture, clothing, art, farmers etc. Since I live in a very large farming, Amish community I support them. I am so sick of coorporate America killing the small business, and family businesses.

  My daughter just returned from Turkey, where she had done an archeological dig. She is working on her Master's in Anthropology. She also was in China doing the same...so I am lucky I can fill my passion through her vicariously. Or actually she probably has always been interested in saving cultures and history because of how she was raised, or at least I hope so. I have always felt we can never know enough about history and culture, or we don't know ourselves ...since we are a product of history and culture. JMO

  the first few years after i got my head out of my jw ass i assumed that worldly associates would be fascinated to hear of my escape....wrong.

  most of them looked at me like "what the f--- are you talking about?"...

  We have been taught as good JW's that if you have the "true religion" you will be hated by the "world." So we expected pure hatred, and that people would be glad we left.

  What most of us found is that the "world" could give a rats behind about the JW religon. Again another lie we truly believed.

  Been "worldly" for 4 months now

  well, i left around january or february, and it's been about 3 months or so experiencing "worldly" living.

  i gotta say...it's been an interesting and uncomfortable transition, to say the least.

  i would just like to update everyone on how i'm doing, and share some of my worldly experiences, as well.

  There are very good men in this world, but you have to think were you would meet them. I do not believe hangin at bars is always it. Do you like to ride bikes, rollerblade, go to the library? Also, I have meet so many men by doing charity work. You know as a JW this was never encouraged, but think about it...individuals that are willing to give of their time to help others usually do this becasue they are caring people. I began doing 5K runs that benefit certain causes I think important.

  Find out what is important to you. Again we were really never encouraged to "find ourselves." Who are you, what do you want in life, where are you going? You have to know yourself, before you can bring a healthy relationship into your life. Also, have someone you care into your life because you WANT someone, not because you NEED someone. Give yourself sometime. You might have left the borg, but the borg has not left you. Being a woman in the JW religion you are brought up to believe that you NEED to have a man to feel complete. Find your own completeness first.
