  Taking control of my life....this is what i'm gonna do.

  as many of you may know, i'm currently an ms and pioneer, and been missing meetings consistently for almost 2 months.

  i have been concerned about my dad's reaction to me wanting to leave the org and he's been questioning me about missing meetings.

  well i've decided now not to jump through the elders' hoops anymore.

  so i've noticed that alot of deaths have been mentioned here in the boards lately.

  i too have lost someone close about a month and a half ago.

  i have been registered here for only 2 months.

  we have been dating for 21/2 years (some would say secretly dating) and i care a great deal for her and i share the same feelings as her when i say we want to get married.

  i was raised in the church all my life now that we are talking about marriage my jw girlfriend is saying the only way we can get married is if i get baptise.

  i don't believe some of the things they preach(well many of the things) .

  I know you might care for her, but living everyday with a person that doesn't share your belief system wears thin real fast. What about children? Are you going to be able to give them a blood transfusion if their life depended on it? What about Christmas, birthdays, are you willing to raise your kids without it, or fight with her all the time if you want them to have holidays?

  I have to tell you I know many kids raised in divided homes, and the children have very divided loyality for the parent that is not a JW. Remember they are taught from infancy that if you don't worship Jehovah, or to be more accurate Jehovah's Witnesses you will die. Think what that does to a kids mind.

  Please really think about it?????? I think you need to turn it around, and tell her unless she leaves this cult it is over...period.

  i was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.

  i have hated every moment of it.

  after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.

  Welcome sweetie....I cried for you when I read what you wrote,,,I sure felt your pain.

  Most of us here know that pain only to well. My family has not spoken to myself or my three children in over 10 years. I have lost in death my grandparents, uncles in that time. and no one even told me. I read it in the paper. It is always amazing how cruel this religion is. Keep coming back we are here for you.

  Sad News Orangefatcat's husband died this morning.

  this is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.

  but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.

  i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.
