*** w92 5/1 p. 7 The 1914 Generation—Why Significant? ***
From small beginnings in 1919, Jehovah’s Witnesses have continued without letup to spread “this good news.” As a result, millions from over 200 lands are now being gathered as subjects of God’s Kingdom. And what blessings await these subjects! The Kingdom will abolish war, famine, crime, and oppression. It will even overcome sickness and death!—Psalm 46:9; 72:7, 12-14, 16; Proverbs 2:21, 22; Revelation 21:3, 4.
Before the 1914 generation passes away, the Kingdom-preaching work will have accomplished its purpose. “Then,” foretold Jesus, “there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.”—Matthew 24:21, 22.

*** g87 12/22 p. 27 Earthquakes—How You Can Prepare for Survival! ***
Of course, it is hoped that you will never experience an earthquake’s horror. But with adequate preparation, many people have survived major disasters. Michiko, now 76 years old, says: “When I was a child, old people said major earthquakes came once in 60 years. I have often thought that their words have not applied in my lifetime. I have known countless severe earthquakes.” Yes, we live in the times of which Jesus prophesied that there would be “earthquakes in one place after another.” (Matthew 24:7) So be prepared! Stay calm and obey warnings and instructions issued by the proper authorities. You will increase your chances of surviving an earthquake!WATCHTOWER OBJECTION: However,it does say that “great earthquakes”will
occur“inoneplaceafteranother,”making them one of the notable features of this momentous period of history.FACTS: HISTORY tells us that there are great earthquakes before there came any JW in earth.

Earthquakes
17 On January 13, 1915, when the first world war was just a few months old, an earthquake shook Abruzzi, Italy, and took the lives of 32,610 people. This major disaster reminds us that wars and food shortages during Jesus’ presence would be accompanied by something else: “There will be . . . earthquakes in one place after another.” As with war and famine, the Abruzzi earthquake was just “a beginning of pangs of distress.”18 The 20th century has been a century of earthquakes, and thanks to the development of the news media, all mankind is very much aware of the devastation they have caused. To mention just a few, 1920 saw 200,000 die in an earthquake in China; in 1923, some 99,300 died in a quake in Japan; in 1935, another quake killed 25,000 in what is now Pakistan, while 32,700 died in Turkey in 1939. There were 66,800 fatalities in an earthquake in Peru in 1970. And in 1976, some 240,000 (or, according to some sources, 800,000) died in Tangshan, China. More recently, in 1988, there were 25,000 who died in a powerful earthquake in Armenia. Surely, “earthquakes in one place after another”!6

there have been always great earthquake, THEY ARE MISSING THE POINT JESUS SAID. That the end will come, with no signs at all, because what Jesus said was normally happening since the beginning, IT WILL COME AND NO ONE KNOWS IT, and IF THERE ARE SIGNS THEN WE WILL KNOW IT, but Jesus said NO ONE KNOWS IT thats why THERE WILL BE NO SIGNS

Is there really a faithful and wise servant?
by jakeyen inmatthew 24 answers when will be the time of the end, reading the context will lead us to realized that the time when son of god will come is unknown to anyone, coming just like a thief,.
now mat 24:45-51 talks about "a servant" given authority by their master to head all other servants.
it says that when the servant is wise and faithful, as giving food at a proper time, then he will be given charge to all possesions of the master.

Matthew 24 answers when will be the time of the end, reading the context will lead us to realized that the time when Son of God will come is unknown to anyone, coming just like a thief,
Now Mat 24:45-51 talks about "a servant" given authority by their master to head all other servants. It says that when the servant is wise and faithful, as giving food at a proper time, then he will be given charge to all possesions of the master. BUT since Jesus said that he will come like a thief, and no one knows when, therefore the "assigned servant" is not faithful but wicked and will be cut off as stated in verses 50-51.
Do you get to think what im thinking??
If the GB teaches that they are that "assigned servant", does that mean that they will be cut off in the end since Jesus will be coming at an hour that this servant is not aware of? -

Well this lead me to reread the gospel account.
I come across The Parable of the Net
Matthew 13
47 “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. 49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous
I was thinking if this net is CHRISTIANITY as a whole, that catches all kinds of fish meaning all people in different denominations under Christianity, and at the END of times, the angels will collect the good ones.
thoughts?
anyway i am currently serving as an elder
