by Blue Grass inwell after fading and keeping a low key i think the elders are finally going to get to me.

The Jehovahs Witnesses are obsessed with sex
by jambon1 inwhy are so many christian religions obsessed with other peoples sex lives?.
they even feel comfortable talking about it in a 'public meeting' when children are present.. does it not point toward an unhealthy deviancy in their mentality?.

Most fundamentalist groups are crotch obsessed, it ain't just the JWs.
Issues of abortion, contraception, the gays, masturbation, etc ... crotch, crotch, crotch, crotch crotch.
Everywhere you turn someone is raging about what others are doing with their crotches.

Most people who are not JW's live with out moral restrain! All who have left the "Truth" regret it. June 15th WT
by life is to short inin the june 15th wt it says on page 9 i will just write it out as it is to hard and unbelievable to preface this.
so here it is.. "many who today are members of the christian congregation can tell you that before learning of and adopting jehovah's righteous standards, they lived without moral restrain.
yet, they were unsatisfied and unhappy.

Matthew 24:14 - past statements concerning
by wannabefree ini am just wondering .... one of the issues i would hold on to and i have used and heard others use in the ministry is about the preaching ... you know, only jehovah's witnesses are doing it, they are fulfilling this prophecy .... since the organization has predicted the date for armageddon in the past, did they ever make statements as to what degree this preaching had been accomplished or have explanations on this changed over the years as well?.

Stayed up all night, see it is a cult now.
by gutted ini really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

You really DON'T KNOW LOVE at all
by Terry inlove is spoken of as though it were an actual.....thing.. the discourse surrounding "love" is a dishonest framing of an argument based on a non-context.. .
love is an emotion.
it is the strongest possible positive emotion.. where does it come from?.

Odd. I've seen infants & toddlers who love their parents, unconditionally.
What values have they learned?
Interesting topic but I disagree with the consensus.

The JW view of world/personal events is repulsive, unkind & just plain offensive
by jambon1 inon 9/11, an elder: it's sad but exciting!on a loved one dying: we can cope far better with this due to the resurection.on the tsunami, an elder: if they think this is bad, wait untill they see what happens at armageddon (smiling).on armageddon, an elder: i want to be able to see the people dying.on execution at god's hands, a pioneer: it'll put them out of their misery.on the swine flu virus, a pioneer: it'll mean less people for jehovah to kill at armageddon.on the birth of my daughter, a prominent elder: be carefull not to fall into the trap of 'baby worship'on the death of my non jw grandmother, an elder: be carefull at the funeral not to become involved in false worship (don't sing my grans favourite hymn)on the topic of my non jw sisters wedding, the po: if it falls on the weekend of the convention, you should make your stand & not go to the wedding.there is, of course, a normal response to each of these situations.
there is a human response.
one that is touched by the tragedy.

They can't help it, sadly. The place has purposely sucked all the real joy out of people and replaced it with some ultramorbid form of judgemental cold-heartedness. A total and utter disdain for other people.

Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

Acts 6:
2 The twelve apostles called all the disciples together and told them, "It's not right for us to give up God's word in order to distribute food.
3 So, brothers and sisters, choose seven men whom the people know are spiritually wise. We will put them in charge of this problemAha!!!

Matt 8:
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those who were following him, “Truly I tell you, not even in Israel have I found this kind of faith!
11 I tell you, many will come from east and west and will feast with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.Hmmmmmmm.
