Great, now unsuspecting Ukrainians can open doors to sneezing and coughing JWs.

also he never chastised the jews for not identifying themselves as jehovah`s witnesses following isaiah`s statement at ch.43 :10-12 , so many years before hand.. and he had ample opportunity to do so on numerous occasions .. jesus himself never used the divine name /jehovah or any other equivalent , in any of his sayings attributed to him by his contemporaries .. sure he acknowledged god as his father and that he did his fathers will , but he never acknowledged him by a personal name such as jehovah or anything like it.. and lets not forget acts 11:26 it was first in antioch that followers of jesus by divine providence were to be called christians , not jehovah`s witnesses,.
smiddy.
Because the NT isn't about YHWH, it's about who was sent to be the Savior. Christianity is about following the example of Christ and gaining knowledge in Christ, to the glory of YHWH. The whole Hebrew Bible is a build up to Christ, the Messiah.
Christ is King of the Kingdom. Christ is the mediator for all mankind. Christ is the High Priest and at Christ's name every knee will bend.
The apostles and disciples were followers of Christ , they were actual witnesses of Christ. So yeah, those of Christ were called Christians. Jehovah's Witnesses were standing on Egypt when the Red Sea was split . If you weren't there it ain't you.
Acts 4:10-12 NET
let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy. [11] This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, that has become the cornerstone. [12] And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved."
Anyone who claims to be a follower of the Bible should believe that is God's arrangement. He himself made those arrangements and that's how he wants things to be.
Now what I found interesting is when reading certain accounts, Christ says he has made God's name known. He also says it's the name that's been given to himself. John chapter 17 is mind altering. It's common practice for a father to give his first born son his same name. Junior. Hmmmm?
When I think about it, God never really told the Israelites his name.
"I am" is not a name, it's a state of being.
it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.
It's simple really. If you don't see it all you are not who he was referring to.
This is not brain surgery.
Also, "the last days", as the apostles understood it were happening in their time. See what Peter says to the crowds on Pentecost when they think the disciples are drunk (concerning their speaking in other languages). It's in Acts chapter 2. He's referring to the things happening right there and then.
my name is jimbo, i'm almost 20 years old, and i live in southern california.
here we go, here's my story (i feel like i'm in an aa meeting haha):.
i was invited by a friend who, looking back, i could tell was buttering me up for months so she can lunge on the perfect opportunity to invite me to a meeting.
Hi there and welcome.
I generally dislike the term "worldly" because it is completely negative in connotation when used by a JW. It's used like one should spit after saying it.
But that all comes from those JWs who live on a compound in NY kept insulated from anyone not a member of their sect. They have no clue.
did you read this study articel in which the slave says it is not appointed yet?.
excerpt from study articel 13 7/15 p 8. so there is good reason for us to understand matthew 24:46, 47 to mean that jesus will arrive to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings at that time in the future during the great tribulation.
* (see endnote.
Well, if you read the whole chapter of Matt 24, then you readily see Jesus is telling the disciples to always be on the watch for him because no one knows his return time. They earlier pose the question about when the things he's relating will happen.
Matthew 24:3 GW
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately and said, "Tell us, when will this happen? What will be the sign that you are coming again, and when will the world come to an end?"
Jesus does his parables to answer them. He keeps going into the next chapter.
It's not for any other purpose.
Out of context, as usual, the verse has little meaning and can be used for any nefarious purpose.
carrying on from audespare thread.
i was wondering how common it is for a sinner/apostate to be outed by a babbling jw care worker?
say you went to your dr because you were pregnant and unmarried or wanting counseling for having to live a double life as a pretend jw... and a jw secretary at the drs office saw this on your file and went tattling to the elders?.
Rules and regulations before humanity. The JW Law.
The Nazis has a similar system of snitching claiming it was to keep the "race" pure. It was simply a tool to control by proxy of neighbors. Everone snooping, snitching on every manner and movement of each other. If someone told on you, the gestapo showed up to question you about your allegiance. If they didn't like your answer, off you went never to be heard from or spoken to again.
When I think about it, JW is similar to Nazis in their snooping, snitching, ignorance of past, refusal to believe there's any wrong in the teachings, backstabbing for position, false love for one another, blind obedience and extreme fear. The way they look at the GB is the way nazi era Germans viewed Hitler. We're the chosen being led to salvation by this man/group.
We know how that all worked out.
I'd sue. I'd sue the hospital and I'd sue the individual who released any medical information. I mean really, you're releasing my private medical documents to a janitor!!?? If they were any type of human, they'd approach you first.
i had a couple of jw sisters call at my door today.. they started with the bizarre "can we read you a scripture" and read about "death being no more" and asked what i thought of that.. i said it sounded like a mix of disney and dumb.. they then launched into how god was going to put an end to death and wasn't that wonderful?.
i said it would have been more wonderful if he'd not created death in the first place.. they thought man created death by disobeying so i questioned why god couldn't have just forgiven them.
apparently "because he loves us" is supposed to be a satisfactory answer to why he kills us.. i asked how loving it was to kill hundreds of thousands of children in tsunami's, disease and so on.. at this point, they gave up on the 'god is love' and switched to the bible being true no matter what because it was an old book and moses had written the first chapter (says the book).. when i suggested it really wasn't that old and that most of the bible myths were copies of older stories from before it was written they questioned if i studied the bible and theology.. then i told them i was brought up as a jw so knew it was all crap.. now it was game on, they immediately switched to play defence questioning why i'd left (and i think they'd already taken a step back away from "the evil" obviously emanating from me).. not much time to say much before they cut and run so i told them i'd left because i found out it was all based on lies and that the watchtower was corrupt and covered up things like child abuse.. oh no, you're thinking of the catholics one of them said (some disdain in how she said "catholics" as though "we're so much better than them").. "well, i challenge you to do a search for the australian royal commission and you'll see the testimony the watchtower leaders gave and the damning evidence that they covered up abuse and reported none of it to the police.".
Luke 21:12-15 NETBut before all this, they will seize you and persecute you, handing you over to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and governors because of my name. [13] This will be a time for you to serve as witnesses. [14] Therefore be resolved not to rehearse ahead of time how to make your defense. [15] For I will give you the words along with the wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
Odd how they weren't given any words of wisdom that couldn't be contradicted at the ARC .... being Gods sole channel and all. Guess the HS didn't want anything to do with them hiding pedophiles. Best they got some lawyers and planned for their defense.
would making fun of an elder, co or governing body member, be considered brazen conduct or some other wt sin, like apostasy?
.
is it an actionable judicial matter, even?.
It really depends on how you make a funny and around whom.
You just have to be careful because seriously some really do think they are your rulers and you are their property to do with as they please. GB members are moonbats because they live in a whats pretty much a bubble in a secluded compound with tunnels and crap underneath.
looking at a news article, i read the following:.
“that’s one thing that’s unique about jehovah’s people,” said marty mettler, a spokesman for the green bay convention.
“they even tell the hotels when they book they’re coming because some people book and don’t show.

1 Corinthians 4:6-8 NET
I have applied these things to myself and Apollos because of you, brothers and sisters, so that through us you may learn "not to go beyond what is written," so that none of you will be puffed up in favor of the one against the other. [7] For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not? [8] Already you are satisfied! Already you are rich! You have become kings without us! I wish you had become kings so that we could reign with you!
^---Er, the opposite of this. They'd consider you making fun of the self proclaimed "glorious ones". They due tend to think a position makes them holier than everyone else and that they are ruling kings in the here and now. Or at the least they think you are their slave ... so you don't question or make fun, just OBEY.
Also, they consider themselves 'mother'. So i guess that makes them a queen, like Babylon the Great. This is not to say that next week this may all change.😉
Remember these men are easily butthurt, and they have elevated their word to be equal to God's. They have little humility. You might encounter a few problems, lol.
