Yep it shows spiritual insecurity that they need someone to back them up so to speak. They can't defend bs and it makes them feel alone . I so much wish I could get my brothers to see the circular logic.

Are JW EX elders in need of our contempt or sympathy ?
by eruption inpoint 1. not so long i would have strung them all up and hanged them.. point 2. these guys were the real succers, not only did they become jw,s, they embraced and adopted the cults teachings, and to some extent subjugated thier familys happiness, and thier own,to elevate themselves, and achieve status and recieve privellages, ie not have a f-----g life.
point 3 they had the onerus task of making sense, of the ever changing (truths) and having to teach that crap to the rest of us, and cope with the subsequent questionings that would invariably follow.. point 4.they had to take the lead in (sales) distributing literature.
point 5.they were the authoritarian face of the society, and a lot of people, (myself included ) thought they were jumped up janitors and window cleaners with a chip on thier shoulders.

wow dude that really sucks.At least you're out now. On a side note I like sizemike's comments,punk's and elderlites'. The reason being that all of what they have said but also I think seeing and hearing their stories from their angle knowing what they knew; gave to me more proof it was a cult.

Just found out a Witness works with me-ruined my day
by Quandry ini work in an elementary school as a very low paid teacher's aide.
of course, most of the staff are teachers who are paid three times my salary and have at least a college degree, many with a master's.
every day i have to face the fact that i followed the "godly wisdom" from the gb and didn't get higher education (except the degree equivalent from reading all the wts and awakes-i haven't gone to personnell to see how that would work out).. this morning, a fellow aide that i rarely see was coming in the door at the same time i was.

I know the feeling since leaving I've had similar situations. 3 work mates I'm higher on the food chain then all 3 .they all tried to reconvert me a little . 1 unfriended me when Iposted washtowel cult field circus field serve us randomly. And now he acts like no big deal didnt say a word about it. I said don't worry I won't bring up religion we'll just get along for work . And he's cool with me still. But I was the one to speak up.
