The problem with prophecies is that they are almost always vague and open to almost unrestricted interpretation. And if an interpretation falls flat there are often many avenues the interpreter is able to exploit to explain his errors to the "faithful".

Keep in mind that a large portion of Jim Jone's followers followed him to the bitter end whether by choice or intimidation by those eager to follow him to their deaths. When deeply ingrained indoctrination is coupled with a desperate need for acceptance, love and duty it's a spell not easily broken. Those JWs who are of this mindset will defend the Org to the bitter end. -

The Australian Royal Commission will NOT do a damn thing to the WT!
by Calebs Airplane inthe rothschild family will not allow the aussies to take any significant action against their religious wing (mormons, jws, adventists, etc.).
the worst outcome for the borg will be a relatively small fine and a deadline to change their rules.

Mephis ... good points. Question is, what's so wrong about these polices and structures that they should be kept confidential? Like the Shepard book as an example, I really don't see what the big deal is that this publication should be so confidential? -

As I mentioned in another thread: I foresee "new light" in the future in the form of policy change. I'm sure as I write this there is some degree of dialogue concerning reform regarding sex abuse and a woman's role in the congregations or at least the JC to some extent. -

It has occured to me after reading a lot of your thoughts and some other material that there is a possibility of either the misappropriation of funds or investments the Org wants to keep hidden. I personally do not believe the Org is in financial difficulty by any stretch of the imagination. There are building projects in effect all over the world and huge projects at that.
No. Im convinced that were these documents laid bare there would be some damming financial facts as well as some associative facts made evident. Besides rumors of hedge fund investments the British authorities are also looking into the Orgs financial records. Seems to me there is a storm brewing and I wonder what the Org weather forecast will be ....

Dont be discouraged. Remember it takes many waves to break apart a ship which has run aground. This is not the first time the Org has had to face the law and it certainly wont be the last. Enough pounding and battering of their façade and it will all fall apart. Those that remain on the sinking ship are those hopelessly dependent on the Org for their salvation and will always be beyond reasoning with ....
