friends have been set against friends, reputations maligned and real tears shed, it is a truly painful scene to behold.. trying to ride the avalanche of emotions that sweep us along in these word-wars seems to be impossible without leaving behind a trail of sadness and hurt.. so i now pose a question.
the wts would have us believe that it is not possible for persons holding fundamentally differing viewpoints to be true friends, and that inevitably they will fight.

Denial-A familiar story
by cornish inits amazing how many, after seeing the damning evidence of the video featuring bin laden talking about the attrocities,dismiss it as a doctored fake etc,they just cannot accept the possibility it might be true,it just seems like what ever evidence is presented it will be dissmissed as not to be trusted,just what would they accept as proof,nothing it seems.. havent we heard this all before somewhere?.

instead of actually producing gas and energy products, enron got into buying and selling futures sales of non-existent gas and electricity.

The financial world lives off such as you - the dumb money, the weak hands, the uneducated know-it-alls, the opinionated, the bombastic experts - in fact Wall Street couldn't exist w/o idiots like you who go short at the bottom, buy the top and generally behave as the squirming bags of emotional non-thinking appetites that you exemplify. LOL.
What is even funnier is that you have gone long the ENRON of religion - and, similarly you will get the Royal Shaft right where the sun don't shine - and I doubt they will apply any Royal, Kingly jelly either.

I am carrying a few xeroxed copies of the three Guardian articles and the Tablet article by Stephen Bates. I've reduced them so that they fit on both sides of a single sheet of paper. I'm not going out of my way to distribute them, but they're there, ready to give to JWs should they come to the door or offer me magazines while out shopping. The plan, like you suggested, is to ask them about the UN thing and, after the discussion gets going, to give them a copy, emphasizing that this is all material taken directly from newspapers. Of course, the odds are small that they will read it, but, you never know.

If what you suggest were th ecase, then how do explain the many articles since 1991 that cast the UN in a favorable light - at least to the uninitiated public who might read Awake! but not understand what the WTS really thinks about the UN. Clearly, the WTS was either taking its NGO status seriously, or was deliberately misleading the UN. Either way it i sdecitful and hypocritical.
