many, after leaving or being cast out of 'the society,' have felt so strongly so as to write a book.
some well thought out and good reading.. my questions are the following:.
if you were to write such a book what title would you give it ?.
If you were to write such a book what title would you give it ?
"Betrayal"
Would you write primarily about your experiences OR about the teachings and doctrines ?
Both

Jehovah's witnesses go around and teach and prophecy in their god's name. They may deny this but it's a fact that they all do it . "the end is right around the corner" time left is short.....they are false prophets period.
American Standard Version (ASV)
20 But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken?
22 when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.

i left as an inactive person.
i pretty much have been left alone by the elders and witnesses, as far as being hounded.. i know of many that either disassociated or got disfellowshipped.. i'm wondering if you think you would have remained a jw, in name only, if the religion (cult) didn't shun and penalize as they do..
humbled the whole thing was rotten from the head down. It had made me sick --well, it is revolting to have not seen the sickness of it before.
Yes you put it perfectly. The whole thing about them is revolting and sickening. At least in my case it was.

I and my family left before they started shunning. In fact, after we had left for over a year, we suddenly got a phone call from an elder with another elder secretly on the phone asking us questions about the Holidays.

as i grew up in the religion, i was a 10. i wanted to be made a "servant" because that was instilled in me from infancy.
i diligently studied ever piece of watchtower literature and defended my religion intensely.. when i got into my 30's, i started to see little cracks in the watchtower's surface but decided to "wait on jehovah".
then i started to research a little more critically and realized i couldn't defend the prophecies, the treatment of people and the hypocrisy that was becoming more obvious, that especially an elder can see.. it was a gradual thing---from a 10 to a zero!.
I was a devout 10+. Studied zealously, got baptized met my born in JW hubby, had our children who grew up in the "truth, Raised them in the "mental regulating of Jehovah", Hubby servant, on his way to becoming elder, Oldest son went to bethel, Daughter and I pioneered, But it all came crashing down when the reality set in. I told the family I could never go back to a KH, They followed, we never looked back.

if one reads genesis from the first chapter through the end with an open mind, it is clear that not only is it not true, but that god is potrayed as a cruel, petty, childish micromanaging tyrant.
if one continues reading the ot this is just further solidified.
how do jws not see the obvious?
paul from cleveland Shana, everything you're writing in this thread is very interesting. Where are you reading about this? Can you recommend some books or websites that discuss this topic in more detail?
I started reading "Jehovah Unmasked" which got me interested in the NAG HAMMADI LIBRARY on Gnostic early writings which included the Apocryphal Books. I've always been naturally interested in ancient history, so I found them fascinating to read. What I initially found frustrating was the Gnostic language and terms I did not understand, at first, so looked up a lot of words in the online dictionary. I'll try to include this info for you.
http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/nhlalpha.htmlFirst, if you go to this website it will offer all the ancient books that were discovered.
I personally found The Apocryphon of John Davies translation very interesting. In this book Jesus is explaining the Heavenly realms to John son of Zebedee. If you read some of these books you'll notice that some have a lot of esoteric and mythical themes in them, while others, for instance The Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Philip, Apocryphon of James,. While others such as On the Origin of the World* and The Hypostasis of the Archons are very esoteric and mythical, as in the Genesis story in the Bible. There is a whole list of other books you can read as well. Once you start reading these books you'll probably need something to help you understand a lot of the writings. Here is an excellent website that explains it easily. http://www.kheper.net/topics/Gnosticism/first_emanation.html This website includes a Glossary that explains the terms and definitions you see in the Nag Hammadi Books. http://www.kheper.net/topics/Gnosticism/glossary.html

The bible pretty much says Jehovah is an ego-maniacal god of war and tyranny who if not obeyed, claims he will send you into eternal destruction. He rules via fear and intimidation as tyrants do. He requires death for the smallest of infractions, and even demands the murder of entire cities/nations for arbitrary reasons.
Yet he has managed to garner billions of followers on this world who give him tribute in the form of worship, prayer and sacrifice, ie: energy, and they all believe he is a merciful and loving god, when the facts say otherwise.
Look at the story of the garden... the story is a big allegory of course, but allegorical for what, exactly? It was Lucifer who brought knowledge to Adam and Eve, and showed them the bondage of ignorance they were restrained in. As Lucifer can be translated from Greek as "Bringer of Dawn", it is fitting to call the garden story the allegory of humanitys long night in the darkness of ignorance, and the "Bringer of Dawn" who signaled the impending rising of the light, and the banishing of the dark.
Any wonder why Yahweh got mad? Just like our own tyrannical governments of this day and age, an informed and educated people were/are this entities worst enemy. Lucifer broke Yahwehs monopoly/dominance over and control of information. But instead of recognizing this, the vast majority believes Lucifer is a demon, and some deluded ones even worship him as such.
Also:
Christians might claim they worship Jesus, not Yahweh. Perhaps they do, but why do they worship someone who clearly did not seek the peoples worship, nor wanted to be anyones leader? It is clear Jesus wanted one thing: not worship, but for the people to emulate his behavior, to be LIKE him, not to think him a god and beg him for free stuff. That's the OLD way, which he came to uproot. He called us his friends and siblings, NOT his minions and serfs.
Unfortunately, it hasnt been uprooted that well... instead of the people thinking for themselves about his words, they depend on an authority, controlled by the same evil that would or does have them all worshiping a clearly genocidal maniac, to read the words, interpret them, and then spoon feed them the meaning.
One could say Jesus and Lucifer are one in the same. Wouldn't it be ironic, but strangely sensical that the original Bringer of Dawn, demonized through out the ages, who expects nothing in return, would come back to further assist knowing he would probably be murdered by those he was trying to save?
So:
Whats the conspiracy here? Its that billions of people have been brainwashed into believing that evil is good, and good is evil, and would be willing to die to defend their false notions. What better way to divide the people than to make them into walking contradictions, thinking they are doing good, when they are really doing evil? They have the people unwittingly divided at their very most core level; themselves.
Its also that they've got you believing the truth is complicated through years of mandatory indoctrination at school.
Its not.
Set the mountains of manure in the pages of the "holy" book ablaze, and after the fire dies and the wind scatters the ashes some tiny precious gems will remain steadfast and eternal, outliving the convolution and obfuscation of what they were buried under.
Treat others as you would be treated " is the first gem, and most powerful IMO.
" Love your neighbor as yourself " is the second.
There is nothing else we need to know or exercise to reveal the truth, and come out of the illusion. Those two things are so simple... so precise! Think of what they include, but also, perhaps even more importantly, think of what they EXCLUDE. Any mention of worshiping anyone? Any mention of what KIND of neighbor to love? Any mention of exceptions to WHO should be treated as you would like to be?
So stop worshiping Yahweh/Satan. You are giving your energy to evil. Stop worshiping Jesus. He wants you to emulate his actions, not be smug and complacent because you think you've got a free ticket to heaven.

Comatose - Ha ha ha I know right!!! I'm just so obsessed with this stuff it's so interesting, and it gauls me to think that the JWs are so smug as to think they represent the Almighty God of the Universe and make other people's lives miserable with there Jehoover rules.
